ABBA...The Definitive Collection
I've spent a lot of money for recorded music, but never got more outstanding pieces in return than these two CDs provide.
This album is a great collection of ABBA's biggest hits. It's classic rock at its very best.

music that is anything but stiff and uptight
This two CD set has quite a few of their very best numbers; it's great for newcomers and fans alike! The quality of the sound on these two CDs is excellent and the artwork is very nicely done. Abba released a lot of beautiful, remarkably emotional music in their heyday; and their artistry remains very special.

"People Need Love" starts the first CD with some mighty fine music that is timeless; it still sounds every bit as good today as it did when Abba first released it! There's a really good beat and they perform this to perfection. "Ring Ring" also has a great beat; the music that plays enhances the number but wisely it never drowns out the singers; they remain squarely front and center where they belong. "Waterloo" was a huge, huge hit for Abba; I love this tune and I could never tire of hearing it--awesome! In addition, "Honey Honey" features Abba at their usual very best; and listen for a major Abba hit entitled "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do. " "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" is outstanding, romantic music that I will never get out of my head; this music is all THAT good. "Mamma Mia" has a rapid beat but Abba never skips a beat nor do they let go of a single superfluous note; and I'm very impressed.

"Fernando" is another great tune; and I really like "Dancing Queen" which was written for a royal wedding back in the day. "Dancing Queen" is wonderful music even after all these years. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is quite poignant and very beautiful even if it isn't exactly the happiest of songs; and "The Name Of The Game" stuns me with its natural beauty. Abba never sounded better! Abba handles complex tempo and key changes like the pros they were and still remain. Moreover, "Take a Chance on Me" is another ageless Abba tune that I love to hear; they do this one up right!

"Angel Eyes" has a wonderful flavor to it that features a great beat; and Abba harmonizes faultlessly as they perform this so very well. "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" is romantic and sensual at once; it all holds its own very well. "The Winner Takes It All" is another moving ballad that Abba delivers with grace and a certain elegance I rarely hear and enjoy; and there's yet another gem in "On And On And On. " Another major hit for Abba was "Lay All Your Love on Me" this haunting melody never leaves my mind; I first heard this at a dance back in the 1980s and it still sounds so great in our times. "Head Over Heels" has some great key modulations to make it shine; and there's "Under Attack" which sports some excellent musical effects. "Thank You for the Music" is another stunner; this is quite powerful and it's a major highlight of this 2 CD set. The second CD then ends with remixes of "Ring Ring" and "Voulez-Vous. "

Abba shall forever remain one of the best groups that ever came out of Sweden; their tunes made the airwaves sizzle and everything they did can never be forgotten. I highly recommend this 2 CD set for fans and newcomers. .

Good collection. Terrible sound.
. The sound quality is really bad for what is a very good collection of their songs.
