"No Good Lover" makes it five stars
The US version of "Life is a flower" is "Whenever your near me" which did not do to well the air play charts. Alright this is a release for the "Flowers" album, which this song, "life is a flower" was a huge hit in the UK. Anyhow here is a break down of each track, Five in all:

1. Life is a flower (Album Version)

2. Life is a flower (Reggae Version)-this is an radio version of the song, the only difference is that, its like an Acousic rock version, they stay very close to the album version

3. Life is a flower (Extended Version)- again very much like the album version, it fades out at the end, which I don't like on extended versions of songs, buts its good. It clocks in at 5:44

4. Life is a flower (Soul Poets Night Club Mix) Eww, what were they thinking, the same thing is repeated over and over again for most of the song (In the free world, is a flowers, yeah, I'm living for the night), its not really a dance song, I like their remix of "Cruel Summer" and "Everytime it rains" much better than this one.

5. No Good Lover (Un-release track)This is a very good song, which makes me give the CD a rate of five stars. I love this song, they always do great songs like this, which makes me wonder why they are not put on the album. This songs makes me think of that special someone, that I'll never have. Anyhow. . .

Overall, get it, what can you lose, and besides if you are an die-hard-fan, of course you will go out of your way to get it. I also like the art work in the disk. Most of the inner notes are in some foreign tongue.


Typical Ace of Base Sound
In retrospect, the song does capture the true Ace of Base essence of happiness, perkiness and sheer bubbliness. LIFE IS A FLOWER was one of the group's biggest hits, charting instantly throughout Europe back in 1998. While this is not one of my favorites of all their songs, this record is undoubtedly excellent in terms of vocals, instrumentals and production values. I think that I would like this song better if I had not been introduced to the unfortunate version released here in the U. S. entitled WHENEVER YOU'RE NEAR ME. I heard this lacking version a long time before I ever heard the true Euro-version. LIFE IS A FLOWER is good song, and while not quite measuring up to other Ace of Base hits, maintains itself via pure pop energy.


One of their best
It was one of their biggest hits, ranking up there together with their such as "The Sign" and "Beautiful Life. This is a first European release from Ace of Base's 3rd album (titled "Flowers" in Europe; "Cruel Summer in USA). " It's a beautifully composed tune, featuring mesmerizing harmonies. Beautiful song, very catchy and very 90's. It's a nice single to add to any CD collection.


One of the Best!
This single makes you feel carefree and joyful. Ace of Base's Life is a Flower single is a comeback from the "failure" of The Bridge cd. The lyrics and melody is wonderful. I cherish this song.


THIS SONG RULES!!!!!!
If you like Ace of Base then this is THE song to buy. 'Life is a flower' was released over here in August, I was singing it all summer and I'm still singing it now. As you guys in America say, it rox!!!.
