First Single off of "Gold": the best post-9/11 song, period.
We all know and love "New York New York", the best post-9/11 song out there, period (even if written before). This is the first, and best, single off of "Gold", Ryan Adams' breakthrough album. Given the more than suspect quality of radio nowadays, I sometimes wonder if "New York New York" would have made it big on the radio without 9/11, but no matter.

The remaining tracks, which do not appear on "Gold", are top quality as well. "Marie Lisa" is Ryan solo on accoustic guitar, in one of his patented "love gone wrong" songs (which he seemingly can crank out at will). "From Me to You" also is an intimate song, which flows very well with the rest of this single.

Finally, the single is enhanced with the video of "New York New York", which, as the editorial review above points out, is nothing short is haunting, yet a beautiful tribute (if unintended). By all means, buy this!.


well worth the money
" You are just wondering if "Mara Lisa" and "From Me to You" are good songs. Well, if you are thinking about buying this cd you probably have already heard "New York, New York. They are, especially "From Me to You. " They both have a light and wistful nature to them. They are good complements to the songs on "Gold. ".


"...something so organic"
The guitar is so awesome and inventive, while at the same time sounding like something Townshend would play. New York, New York is a great song. It was a great move on his record label's part to release this song first because it is very catchy and makes you want to hear something new by Elton John. I don't know about you, but if I were the girl the song was written about I would be kicking myself right now after hearing him pour his broken heart out (hinthint Leona).


Gr8 Rock Song!
Pretty ironic, its a great song! Its Way good, one of my faves right now!. Aint it crazy this was before 9-11? I thought so, its actually about an ex of Ryan's that was from NY, so he is refering to her when he says New York.
