Demolition is his best work
Adams has released(ever released if we believe he's done forever). Both musically and lyrically Demolition is the best album Mr. It is the only album you can put on and play, start to finish, without any non-Ryan Adams listener* asking, "What the hell are we listening to?"(* people with bad, or no taste in music). In all fairness, this is a valid question with some songs on other albums. Not this one. It starts off strong with Nuclear, then Hallelujah, and on through the 6th track, then Tennessee Sucks(in the summer(it does)), and Dear Chicago. This album has a solid 9 very good songs, maybe 10. The others aren't bad at all, those 9 are that good. This album has better continuity than anything since Pneumonia, and not seen again until 29. I know 29 wasn't well received, but you can't argue that it's not consistent. This isn't a review of 29 though. Demolition, if you own more than 1 Ryan Adams or Whiskeytown CD, you'll be mad you deprived yourself of this one for the last 7 years.

Another entry towards his song-writing prowess
Though this is a b-sides album I enjoy it more than it's a-side counterpart. Ryan Adams is a phenomenal song-writer, and this album of b-sides recorded during the Gold sessions is more proof that his song-writing skills are unsurpassed by anyone. It's a bit less poppy and definitely more emotional than Gold. All in all a great album.

Brilliant Collection
Those who compare it (usually negatively) to Gold and Heartbreaker are missing some very strong stuff. I've owned this album for several years now and never tire of it; it's that good. In fact I have yet to find a weak track on it. I own a lot of Ryan's recordings now but this remains the first I ever bought and a personal favorite. Both the songwriting and the production are superb.

Aging Just Fine, Thank You!
I was in a used record store the other day and found Demolition. . And hey, this record is surprisingly great!. . . People's negative reviews make me wonder if they heard the same record. But, since I'm getting into this years afters its initial release, I have no hype or expectation to go on. The acoustic songs on here are among his most devastatingly beautiful. There's four of them in particular, "You Will Always Be The Same," "Tomorrow," "Cry On Demand," and "She Wants To Play Hearts. " If you're interested in Adams's fragile, acoustic songs that threaten to shatter your heart with each whispered nuance, then these 4 are indispensable. Then there's a couple rock songs, and a couple country-ish ones, and a couple of those are great also. So despite it being a little uneven, at least half of Demotion is holding up quite well.

Ryan Adams
While "Desire" is my favorite cut from the CD I like the whole CD which is unusual for me. I bought this CD after hearing "Desire" on an episode of "House". I usually only like the song I buy a CD for and maybe one other song. The whole CD was enjoyable and I'll consider buying other CD's by Ryan Adams.
