Todd Agnew Do you see what I see?
His words are true and speak to our souls!. Anyone who has listened to Todd's music understands that he is a true talent and brings contemporary Christian music into mainstream.

An awesome Christmas CD from a talented artist
For this album, he was on. I have a love-hate relationship with Todd Agnew's music: when he's on, it's incredibly creative and lyrical; when he's off, it sounds like he's whining. It's cleverly constructed along the unifying theme of Christ's birth from the individual perspectives of the people involved. In between the Prelude and the Postlude (roughly based on "Do you Hear what I Hear"), we have Joseph (All I have to Give), Mary (Magnificat), the inkeeper (No Room), the Magi (God with Us), the shepherds (Bethlehem Dawn), the angels (Glory to God), etc. Further, he often ties in a particular song with an older Christmas song (e. g. , the Magi song has strains of "We Three Kings").

Interestingly, he also chose different styles for each of the songs. Many are ballads, No Room has blues overtones, and Glory to God sounds like a gospel choir. Yet he still manages to make it sound like that's how the song *should* be sung. The lyrics are thought-provoking, and the whole album manages to be modern while still giving a nod to tradition. Todd himself shows greater range than I knew him capable of (check out Did You Know and God with Us), and he wrote most of the songs himself. The guest artists are well-selected, and generally add rather than detract from the album.

If you're tired of hearing the same old carols done over and over, but still want to retain the timeless wonder of Christmas, this is the album to get.

Wow! Simply Awesome Album!
I'm a big Todd Agnew fan and the only thing I'm disappointed in is that I waited too long to buy this album! If you like Todd you will love this, even with the guest singers. The first review listed by Brenda really nailed it and I agree 100% but I wanted to get my 5* review in here as well. His voice is as powerful as I've heard and will bring tears to your eyes with the emotion he sings with. Its just an amazing album, when you listen to the words you will be moved.

Even if you're not a Todd Agnew fan but looking for Christmas music, definitely buy this, its the best Christmas album I've heard in many years, and can really be played year round. The message is great, it will lift you up, it will make you think, and will make you thankful, as all of Todd's music really does. If I could tell someone to buy one Christmas album this year, this would absolutely be it, I might have to buy several copies and give as presents, its honestly that good!! .

Christmas all year long!
I would not have been moved if Todd Agnew himself had sung Magnificat (Mary's song) or Sleep Well (Elizabeth's song)!

Agnew's ability to write a variety of songs (ballads, musical score-type pieces, rock, gospel, etc. Todd Agnew presents the Christmas story through music like no artist has ever done before! This album features guest voices for most of the tunes, which is probably best because it gives the listener a truer feel of which character's point of view the song was written from. ) is incredible! The only song I don't care for is the angels' song. Everything else is simply incredible! Lyrics are faithful to Scripture, and even extrapolate beyond our typical thoughts of the Christmas story. Particularly touching are "This is all I have to give" in which Joseph realizes his Son provides for him more than he can provide for his Son; and "Did You Know?" which features the chorus, "Did You know? Did the cross cast a shadow on Your cradle? Did You know? Did You shudder each time Your hammer struck a nail? Did You know? How much heaven and how much earth were in this child at His birth? Did You know? Or did You wonder?" Amazing lyrics!

I play this CD all the time. . . Christmas or not, this CD will have your marveling at the wonder of our Savior's birth (and life, death, and resurrection, too)! Well done once again, Mr. Agnew!.

Glorious!
The humanity and deity of Jesus is so awesomely revealed in the lyrics. It's February and I'm still listening to this album! Although it's about the birth of Christ, it goes beyond traditional Christmas music. I can just see the hosts of Heaven proclaiming the birth of our Savior in the song "Glory to God"! And the joy and pain in Elizabeth's song to John. . . knowing your child is destined to change the world yet the price that must be paid! And "Bethlehem Dawn" is so absolutely beautiful and contrasts with the powerful vocals in "God with Us". I'm praying this is what our Praise team decides to perform for Christmas 07!!!.
