This single is definitely one of her most opinionated ones putting to the lime light how men can think and do certain things but women are looked at differently. Christina Aguilera has the voice, the talent, the blessings, but most of all the character and attitude to make her music stand the test of time, create talk, and provide comfort plus enjoyment-all in one. This is about equality, confident "stand strong" messages comparable to her other messages from her album Stripped in singles such as Beautiful, Fighter, to name only two. The ambition is fierce, the drive is non-stop, but the perfection to get the message across is even more like the title, "Can't Hold" Christina down!

"Can't Hold Us Down" Featuring Lil' Kim [4:15] has pop, rap, R&B, hip-hop and catchy dance elements. The bass intensifies, the beats change pace as the back and forth between Lil' Kim and Christina showcase that "if a guy can do this" why can't a girl? The hooks, background vocals and music make this a smashing enjoyable song as the thumpin' heavy banging bass ends the tune bringing the message to the core!

"Can't Hold Us Down" (Sharp Boys Orange Vocal Mix) [7:22] has more club ambiance with swirls, echoes, bangs, and techno/trance elements. The repetitive dance beats along Christina's singing of "Nobody can hold us x 8-- Never can never will" make this the type of track to sing along, or rap. Christina sings on super fast forward styles with rap, intensity, and even shouting to get the message loud and clear CAN'T HOLD US DOWN! This has very little tribal drums and more vocals, highly energetic dance tempos along some exaggerated effects in the music. The rap by Lil' Kim definitely reinforces the message quite strongly along the techno swirls and club vibes.

"Can't Hold Us Down" (Jacknife Lee Mix) [4:30] has Christina's vocals more to the core firing back that a girl has to stand her ground and not let a man put her down. This has attitude as she sings, "The guy can call it a score but if it's a girl she's a *. . . " Lil' Kim also raps stating how we need to spread the word to not take it. Christina then sings about standing strong as the techno hints and club effects take small doses yet enough to make it a mix for the typical hip-hop, pop, lover.

As the pop culture sings about the typical themes to cash in on success Christina makes an effort to bring to the table the issues many face that are difficult, unfair, or just plain wrong. Listen to a single with messages, life-lessons, and confident attitudes along excellent music!.

The beat is great & the message is a really great one. Christina Aguilera is a great vocalist & song writer & it shows on this single. No matter what anybody says about her, she doesn't let it stop her, it just makes her stronger. Women have it hard, we always have. We are always searching for equality but we can never quite get there cause there's always put downs & set backs. Thank You, Christina! You are truly an inspiration!.

[. . ] She is an entertainer! The problem is: you can't stop the stupid kids for buying the celebrate pop crappy albums today. Who still recognize this maid in the next 10 years? it is the same case like britney spears and spice girls!

PS: pls throw away the cd from your window or burn it to the hot ash volcanos!!!
