Mose is the man!
It was the begining of a real love for this cd and his music. This cd was my introduction to the world of wonderful Mose when I stumbled upon it in a library. Songs on this album have so much soul and are very smooth. You will not be let down with any of these songs . Each one is terrific!.

He's been around forever but if you mention his name around people that don't know too much about jazz, they seem to have no idea of this most wonderfully talented man. Mose Allison is just one of those rare finds. I found out about this album at the public library when I picked it up there out of curiosity. It's truly one of the best cd's I've heard and he's got a most unique style of his own. If vocalists interest you, get this album! If instrumentalists interest you, get this album! It's a true must for every lover of music and jazz to own. He plays piano and trumpet on it and sings as well. I give it 5 stars, it's really beautiful.

Classic Mose!
Listening to Mose's records will provide a most unusual experience, for he is not merely a superb jazz pianist, he also sings. In the world of jazz musicians, many of whom display a most colorful personality, Mose Allison stands out as an entertaining character indeed. Now, this is not unusual in itself, but at some point, on some session, somebody may know when and how, but the vocal microphone was left on after the vocal, picking up vocal "nuances" as the instrumental continues, something which I have heard only on classical recordings by Glenn Gould. However, the vocal utterances by Gould are debatably annoying, while those by Allison actually contribute to the "coolness" of the recording. In fact, in this reviewer's opinion, Mose Allison exudes "cool. " Any true fan of cool jazz will benefit from recordings by Mr. Allison, and this two session set is no exception.
