Happiness is a Warm Gun
When George Bush is quoted as saying "I believe that those who commit crimes should not have guns" you just have to shake your head and wonder what is up with the intelligent quotient of this world. The intro to Tori's cover of Happiness is a Warm Gun ought to reach out and grab any handgun advocate and give them pause for deep thought and perhaps reconsideration. If you listen to nothing else Tori has performed (and if that's the case you are missing some amazingly stirring music), I highly recommend this CD, and her cover of this Beatles classic. I played it over and over, during the painful years of the Bush Administration, to remind me that we really are among some pretty stupid and dangerous thinking (or perhaps not thinking) people. All of the songs she covered, like 10 cc's "I'm not in Love" take on new (and at times reflect some pretty shallow and perhaps cruel verse), we didn't quite think about when originally released. A special thanks to Tori Amos for inspiration. I wouldn't have had the courage to take up piano late in life if it weren't for her. .

hard to penetrate
Strange Little Girl, New Age and Real Men are stand outs for me. Amazing and genius covers, however, sometimes a hard listen (ex: Happiness is When That Damn Song is Over).

Just as good as her other albums

Worth a Listen
For anyone who enjoys Tori's style and musical talent, the album is obviously a must-have. While I think the idea in and of itself may not be entirely original, I found this album far more enjoyable than I originally imagined I would. . . however, that being said, a newcomer to Tori should probably start with 'Little Earthquakes' or 'Scarlett's Walk'.

It's like a vintage wine....precious....
When I first got this CD a few years ago I wasn't able to appreciate the substance and style of this CD. . . now I have matured so to speak into my 30s I really LOVE it! It's absolutely enchanting. . . her unique voice. . . . takes me to another world! She's a great songwriter/singer!!!.
