Rip off Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, they are all terrible. From what I can make of the liner notes, half the songs on this cd were either never released or are from a Myles Goodwyn solo album. Sappy, weak, unispired, pathetic ballads. Of the remaining nine songs, 4-5 are strong enough to merit inclusion on a compilation album. The others are quite forgettable. Don't waste your cash on this travesty. ANY regular April Wine album has more good songs than this compilation. Get Harder Faster, First Glance, and Nature of the Beast. Then go backwards from Whole World's Gone Crazy. The only reason to buy this would be if you already have every other April Wine album and wanted to complete your collection by adding their worst songs.
Vintage Wine!
The title says it all. If all you know about April Wine stems from their eighties albums, then you owe it to yourself to get this set. You couldn't grow up in Montreal in the seventies WITHOUT hearing "Ooowatanite", "The Whole World's Goin' Crazy", "Mama Ley", "Wings Of Love" and virtually every track on this great set of early hits. Mixing hard rock and power-pop effortlessly and with superb hook-filled songs, April Wine were one of the best! This anthology does their beginnings proud!.
