awesome
a bit too much screaming for my taste, but still one of the most amazing albums by one of the best bands of our time.

Prety good
but their first cd has too much growling and screaming. i love avenged sevenfold. in waking the fallen i think they find a much better balance. their are alot more regular vocals witch i prefer but there is a lot of growling and screaming too, witch i know some people do like. its a good cd but unless your a pretty devoted fan you probably wont like it too much. if your looking for something like the self titled avenged sevenfold cd then you probably should just stop at city of evil. .

Here We Go Again...
People keep saying they're "wannabes" and "posers", and "theyre not real metalcore". Waking the Fallen is a good album from a good band. Well guess who put that title on them? Yall. They are not metalcore, they are not hardcore, they are not death metal, and nobody ever in their right mind said they had power metal in their music, thats retarded. They are just heavy metal and whats wrong with that? Why does it always have to be "oh theyre not hardcore enough" or "theyre just wannabes of every other band". Seriously you guys sound like 12 year olds. The singer, by the way, sounds nothing like Chad from Nickelback, youre an idiot. Nickelback is a terrible band. I bet you "metalheads" cant even play half of a riff from this album. A7X has their own unique sound, most of their songs being fast paced with alot of double guitar work for almost the full duration of the album. Forget all the "brands" of this band, just pop in this cd and enjoy some rock and roll. This guy is a decent singer, and hes got an alright yell. but his voice flows well with the music, which sounds like punk mixed with aggressive metal. Anyways, dont listen to these idiots on here, ill be the first to tell you that they dont know what they are talking about.

Quick Vinyl Coverage

These 2008 vinyl only reissues handle a decent reissue price. Hopeless Records helped sign Avenged Sevenfold and grant them to stardom, they also helped helped reissue their first two records "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet", and "Waking the Fallen" respectively.

"Waking the Fallen" is a metalcore album with a few recognized singles, and probably A7X's first true sign of promise. Specifically the vinyl copy is a two record set, gatefold, and both records are colored. They range from opaque greys to swirled grey, the vinyl is kinda noisy (both copies I own), but I'm thinking that's due to rushed production to cash in on the vinyl craze.

For two colored records somewhat heavy vinyl, and a big artist reissue prices could have been higher (like the Capitol reissues). Most of the people I've met only have this in the MP3 format, so yes this is going to sound better, but a CD copy is near identical and should suffice. This is more a collectors item, the noise floor is somewhat rough on softer tracks.

The only real gripe I have with this set is the way they put they arranged the tracks determining sides. Yes they didn't alter the track listing, but the epic two part "I Wont See You Again Tonight" has been separated by sides. Sides C and D, you lose the momentum the songs acquire. Shame as they really were the pivotal moments of the album.

If you are a fan of the band and don't earn a turntable this still makes for good art deco, if you own a turntable it's listenable but not amazing in the least bit sound wise. I think the first album makes for the better reissue (As generally even on CD it's a bit more scarce). You get a bang for your buck, but it could of offered a bit more on the quality side then the looks.

it wasn't the best i heard
I did enjoy a couple of the songs, but my goodness, this album was so full of self pity lyrics, it was getting old really fast.
