Customer Reviews A different kind of Bacharach album It was recommended in one of the "audiophile" magazines to which I subscribed at the time. I first purchased this album on vinyl in the late 70s. I was delighted when I first listened to it. It's not the typical pop sound that I associated with Burt Bacharach. The Houston Symphony shares the artist billing with Bacharach, and it really is the star of the album. This collection features some passionate, emotional music - sometimes even a bit jazzy. It also has haunting vocals by Carly Simon and Libby Titus. As is the case with most Bacharach albums, there are enough hooks to keep these songs running through your mind long after you listen to the album. I was very pleased to find this on CD (finally). Even though it's a bit pricey due to being an import, it was a no-brainer for me to buy it. I wish the packaging were a little different - it comes in an unusually thin cardboard sleeve which is slightly taller than a standard jewel case when stood on end - but that's as close to a complaint as I can come with this purchase. I recommend it for anyone who appreciates music with an enduring appeal. . Quite good It has really aged well. While not as good as his 60's work and even somewhat less good than Futures, this is not a bad album at all. I bought it on cassette back when it came out and did not like it then buut now it has really grown on me. The lush orchestration is beautiful and the recording splendid.
