..2 different cds with the exact same production & tracklist... this has the same tracklist, and same crappy production sound as. . "Badfinger: Come and Get It". . 'nuff said. I'm taking this back for a refund.
Joey lost my respect with this egotistical remake.
He went off the tracks when he decided to reproduce, dub, and remaster these songs on this one. Joey Molland has been the caretaker of the Badfinger legacy. My first impression was that he was so egotistical using his voice in place of Mike, Pete, and Tom's. Almost like they never existed. .
Not All Bad
I saw Joey Molland live this year (2007) and loved it. I personally don't care if this is the original Badfinger or not. What's wrong with him performing solo versions of his old band's songs? I say nothing, because a lot of bands do that. So to say that Joey Molland shouldn't tour with Badfinger music, does that mean that:
Stu Cook and Doug Clifford shouldn't tour with original CCR music?
Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger shouldn't play Doors music on stage?
Mike Love and Bruce Johnston shouldn't tour as The Beach Boys?
I say they're all legit. And I have seen all three of the above mentioned acts in concert, and I don't care what anyone says. They are great. Why doesn't Joey Molland deserve an equal voice? No it's not the same. But I think it can be different and still be good.
Maybe some fans are reluctant to accept line-up changes. After all, there are some Who fans who say their career should've ended when Moon died. WRONG!!! .
Bad badfinger
Having one member of a band perform Badfinger songs does not constitute a Badfinger album except perhaps in the most legalistic terms. I bought this cd at my local record store and paid retail for it! :( My chagrin upon listening to this garage band quality set of covers knows no bounds.
Mr. Molland must own the name and sold it cheap in my opinion. Learn from my mistake DON'T BUY THIS ALBUM!.
Joey Molland covers Badfinger?
I can understand how people were mislead into thinking this was original recordings by the original group. This cd is deceptive with the cover picture of the original group and the "Best of Badfinger" as its title. But this is in fact Joey remaking the old songs. It's not his production, (if it were the credits would have been spelled correctly), but a job he was offered and accepted. The deceptive cover was done so the cd would sell. Why did Joey do it? My guess is he likes to pay his bills and eat. Sounds like the majority of fans would rather have him laying carpet. And besides what is wrong with someone covering Badfinger? The tribute "Come and Get It" is an excellent cd with none of the group members performing. Sound quality? Not even the Beatles could do Baby Blue or Midnight Caller better than Pete Ham. So why compair? The recording is not THAT bad. Sometimes its good to hear other versions of our favorite songs. Three stars only because it was not presented properly.
