Customer Reviews Not so original. She seemed to be remaking fabulous songs like Eleanor Rigby, and Let it be. This is the first Joan Baez cd I have listened to and I have say that it's okay. I'm sorry. It just doesn't sound the same. I hope that her other CDs are more original. Very good but..... This is a very good album but the previous reviewer mentions songs that are not on this CD like Diamonds And Rust and John Lennon's Imagine. Moving into pop and rock Dating from 1973, it's more pop than folk, with a varied selection of material including Lennon/McCartney and Kris Kristofferson covers. This was my first Joan Baez album and I still love it. Besides her greatest hit, the lilting song The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down from 1971, my personal favourites include the wistful There But For Fortune, the poetic Brand New Tennessee Waltz ("Well I left Tennessee in a hurry dear/The same way that I'm leaving you/But love is mainly just memories/And everyone's got him a few/When I'm gone I'll be glad to love you") and the bittersweet Love Is Just A Four Letter Word. Help Me Make It Through The Night, Eleanor Rigby, Let It Be and Dangling Conversation are well interpreted and enjoyable. Folk purists and fans of her early work might not appreciate it, but I enjoy all her different styles and directions. Every one of these songs is appealing and very well done. . .
