Customer Reviews
The most symphonic album of a musical genius
Mogol's lyrics are almost perfect as usual, even for the funny and irreverent "Luci-ah", a music divertissement centered on the explicitly open behavior of a gracious girl in a small town. "Il mio canto libero" (My free chant) is permanently seeded as the work that Battisti conceived for his orchestral dreams. But the rest of the album sounds a very precious offer of symphonic moments, including the last portion of a ballad for guitar and voice such as "L'aquila" (The eagle), a tiny masterpiece built on simple chords. "Luce dell'est" (Light from the East) flows smoothly around two lovers with such great fusion that you can almost smell their flirtatious moments. "Confusione" is built around the first major crisis that involved oil and its scarcity in the 70's as the "black gold" is invoked with delicious accents of bass guitar to explain a painful love relationship. Besides the lyrical and beautiful title track closing the album, my favorite pieces are "Gente per bene, gente per male" (Fine people, not-so-fine people) nervous and unusual for his majestic guitar phrasing and the grand finale, and the wonderful "Vento nel vento" (Wind into wind, how more powerfully together could two passionate lovers be???), with the orchestra literally exploding on a calm piano and voice. This is one of Battisti's fine moments, and if you like his style you should not miss this original jewel. .

Beautiful songs from the heart
This collection of songs in italian are to be enjoyed by his musical diversity. Luccio Battisti passed away in October 98 but his music lives on.
