A good introductory album It was a precursor of what was to come, but at only 31 minutes long, it leaves you wanting more. This is a re-release of Keola Beamer's introductory album. He was only 21 when this album was recorded, and the vocals are not as self-assured as they were later to become. But never the less, this is a lovely album. . . slack key guitar played by one of the masters. The booklet contains notes about Keola, and also about the art of Slack Key, plus a note about each song, 4 of which were written by Keola. Early Beamer Sounds Great The vocals aren't as polished as on recent recordings, but you can hear what a great musician he was even in 1972. An enjoyable album of Keola's early solo talent. A few of the tunes are so lovely they were also recorded on later albums: "The Beauty of Mauna Kea" , "Pupu Hinuhinu".
