super bargain!Great cd for a great price even after shipping. . arrived in good time, what more could you ask for? Beats itunes for sure.
one of his best
I prefer Beck when he does not exaggerate with his usual "kind-mix mood". I have almost all Beck's works and this is the best together with "mutations". Sometimes this feature leads to ingenious and pleasant songs, specially in albums like Mellow Gold or Odelay. But the risk to make mess songs is not do far. . . Sea Change is completely different: unplugged and orchestrated, he could sound monochord at first, but it grows constantly with listenings for the strenght of each song! .
beginning to end classic
It is an amazingly cohesive effort. One of the best beginning-to-end albums I own. Beck went through some heavy stuff at this time in his life and he deals with it all here.
Very different from Odelay! - yet very compelling.
I was very suprised at the first hearing of this album, and a bit disappointed that it was not in a similar style. When I first purchased this album, I had not heard any of the tracks, but assumed it would be something in a similar vein to Odelay!. However, after listening a few more times, I have decided that this album is a more personal (and much less surreal) work than Odelay!, but no less compelling. Don't expect to hear anything like Where It's At, but expect another great album from Beck!.
Beck"s melloncollie masterpiece
I'm a huge Beck fan and I love the way he transends generes. Sea Change If you"re more use to the party sounds of midnite vultures then this might not be the Beck album for you. In my honest oponion, I think Seachange is Beck's best work ever. This album is brilliant and straight from the heart. The depressing lyrics, mixed with strings and some of Beck's best singing ever, makes this album a true gem. I have to say that this is the most honest and sincere work I ever heard from an artist. Seachange almost works as a concept album in some ways. It's a very depressing journey from start to finish but it's a beautiful album that makes you feel the writers pain.
