Armchair critic
All I wish to add is this. I've noticed way too often that many people tend to judge artist from the point of their own musicial tastes. NO ONE CAN PLAY THE GUITAR LIKE JEFF BECK, period. There are many great players out there, we all have our favorites, but it bothers me that some people who can't even play an instrument judge those who do as if their opinion actually means anything. I've played the guitar for many years and I think that Beck's playing is exceptional, Great! And those of us who have tried (hard), can't seem to come close to his mastery of his instrument. If he tries new things, fine. Most others don't, just reliving their past glory. If you like an idea that someone like Beck tries or not, that's okay. Just don't judge it as if you can play that well. Beck is one of a kind and NO ONE sounds like him. In my eyes, that makes him and his playing exceptional. One has to appreciate and respect that. "You had it coming", is a fine album! Play it and enjoy it! That's all.

Favorite Jeff Beck Album
Although If you
are you will love it. You don't have to be a guitar fiend to like this album. Nadia and Suspension are awesome in any category
of instrumental music.

Will make your hair stand up - Just so hot.
I could listen to this albumn all day long. This is classic Jeff beck. Roy's Toy and Nadia show off Jeff's great skills at playing the guitar. And Loose Cannon and Rosebud have compelling driving force behind the melody. This is NOT TRANCE - just great ROCK. Watch out for Left Hook, because you will get hooked. Oh, how I wish for another like this. .

Mediocre
When I heard Beck's rendition of "Rollin' and Tumblin'" with Imogen Heap, I thought this CD would be fantastic. I was somewhat disappointed by this CD. Instead, I found a CD that was more electronic rock than rock or blues with heavy use of the drum kit. Most of the songs didn't have any melody.

Creativity all over
He never took the easy path of showing how fast or virtuoso he is. Jeff Beck is far from the typical rock guitarist. Instead, he is full of intriguing and explosive ideas that make you want to listen to this CD over and over again. That's what musicianship is all about, and Jeff has plenty of it.
