Benatar's Best Shot
It has hits in Treat Me Right, You Better Run, Hell is for Children and Hit Me With Your Best Shot. This is truly a great rock album. Pat is probably the top female rock/pop vocalist of all time IMO. She even won a grammy for best female vocal performance on 1982's Shadows Of The Night. Not a weak track in the bunch. There is straight rock, new wave and post-punk in her style. There is also touches of art-rock in places, such as in Wuthering Heights. Outstanding melodic hard rock that will have you playing this record many times. Highly Recommended.

The remastering on this issue is superb. .

Pat Giving The Best Shots
Of course as the years passed, I have bought every version made available and thankfully in the last few months Chrysalis Records got wise and remastered Pat's first three albums. When I was a kid and went to our local Prange Way to buy this album in 1980 they were sold out and all I could buy was the 8track! So for years I heard it in all that interesting click and clacks that came on during the track changes.

It is Crimes Of Passion, Pat's second album that drove her into the rock stratosphere and made me the ultra Benatar lover I am. Driving singles "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "You Better Run" & "Treat Me Right" showed she could rock and sing the talk. But listening to all the elements of the remasters I realize why I loved this album in the first place. Album cuts like "Hell Is For Children", "Little Paradise" and "Out-A-Touch" rock, plus her cover of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights" is something to hear in order to believe.

Neil Geraldo's great guitar solos and Pat's defiance, all came through on this 1980 release. Plus it has another of my all time fav songs ever, "I'm Gonna Follow You" all about being stalked by someone who finds themselves in "My alley". This is a must have for anyone even remotely curious in Benatar.
