Most timeless Benson ever (proof after >30 yrs!!) I nearly have all of his albums but this one comes back to me all the time. This is the most timeless album of George Benson.
There's enough proof of timelessness due to the fact that this is 2009 and the album is a late 70's sample.
Remastering is indeed an option. A more crisp sound would make this already great album even more unbeatable.
Another option is a new recording.

Classic Jazz
It has the necessary hits, and stands the test of time. Benson's best known and greatest commercial success. I am still looking for a copy of Benson "Burner", which is his definitive work.
THE BREEZIN GENERATION
That song got me started listening to jazz music. I remember my days in the military 75 - 78, when I heard my first Jazz Album by Chuck Mangione, "FEELS SO GOOD" (76). Then I started listening to George Benson during his CTI years. Then came "Breezin". That was all it took for me to start really listening to Benson. But I must say it was Wes Montgomery that inspired me to start palying the guitar seriously. I guess I can honestly say that JIMI HENDRIX, WES MONTGOMERY and GEORGE BENSON were the guitarist that gave me the appetite to play the guitar. I first heard the The Breezin album on vinyl and now that I have the CD I'm even more happier now. Who knows maybe I just might replace all my vinyl records with CD's. .
MISLEADING - AUDIOPHILES BE AWARE!
This is highly misleading. Please be aware that amazon have used the Audio CD reviews to promote this DVD Audio disk.
This is a DVD Audio advanced/high resolution disk and will not play on a standard CD player. You require a DVD Audio compatible hardware to access the high resolution audio.
This is an excellent album. The stereo high resolution layer is superb and highly recommended. But only buy for that!
I have a high qaulity 5. 1 surround system and own many DVD Audio titles. The surround 5. 1 high resolution layer is one of the WORST I have heard. Who mixed this? I don't know the technical jargon for describing what the mixing engineer has done but the vocals sound like they have been recorded in a corridor and there is little LFE (the . 1 part of 5. 1 for the sub-woofer). I won't go on about the rest of this disk but I can't imagine Mr Benson actualy listened to this before it was sent to the market.
NOTE TO ENGINEER: Listen to the DVD Audio or SACD of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road to get an idea for how proper surround 5. 1 should be mixed.
This is 2 stars because of the poor 5. 1 mix. The superb stereo layer is superb but surely that must have been straight forward to master to high resolution.
Breezin By George Benson
Smooth Jazz at its best. George Bensons Breezin Album is a treasure for easy listeners and music buffs alike. It makes excellent background music for parties, shop retailers, or for those that like to accompany George by playing an instrument. The tracks are wonderfully produced clear yet crisp tones. Well worth the purchase.
