Where's "Deep Feeling"?
g. Others have mentioned the omission of "Run Rudolph Run", which certainly should have been included here instead of some of these selections (e. "My Ding-A-Ling"? Come On! -no pun intended). However, the biggest omission is "Deep Feeling", a great blues instrumental and probably his greatest guitar playing on record. This cut was included on the great old vinyl release "Chuck Berry's Golden Decade" but I have not seen it on any CD anthologies. Major flaw. Maybe because it wasn't a "hit"? Who knows - All I know is that it shows a somewhat different side of his music that you don't see in his more commercial stuff. .


Chuck Berry Rocks
I never realized the extent and creativity of Chuck Berry's music. I've played these CD's multiple times already. There are great songs I've never heard of until now!.

I find this collection terrific and the sound quality is really good too. I purchased this album along with a few other vintage performers albums in the hope that with the aid of modern technology the recordings may be actually capable of being listened to without the need for grimacing at the four thousand clicks, whistles and hums. Who ever remastered this album certainly knew their stuff. If you like Chuck Berry and the music of our time then you will really like this album.

THIS SET NOW SUPERCEDED BY A NEW 2007, 3CD BOX FOR LESS $$'S
The audio on the Ultimate discs is virtually identical to that of the 2000 Anthology 2CD set, and the 2004 Chess remasters; it's very good.
In 2007, a new three-disc import compilation, Chuck Berry: The Ultimate Collection, was released.

While Ultimate has six more total tracks, there are many songs that don't appear on both sets (most notably, the two famous Christmas hits, sorely missing on Anthology):

I forgot how many great hit's Chuch's had. Can't stop moving as you listen to this CD.
