the ozzy years
all cd's sound crystal clear. all ozzy/sabbath cd's in one package. remember these masters date back to 1969(30years),so even with remastering they are not gonna sound like they were recorded last week. they should thrown in the 2 studio cuts off of the reunion live cd too.

REALLY REMASTERED??? IT'S MORE LOUD BUT NOT REALLY BETTER....
I bought this box and let me say something: these cd's sounds more loud but NOT BETTER than other previously remastered versions. . Yes, you can get a nice book. . . a extra dvd (rare videos???) and all the Ozzy's Black Sabbath albums but. . . not the original art, not the better sound and a cheap poor pack if you compared with others collections o boxes(For 90 $$$???). If you have the Sanctuary or Castle remastered albums this Box is really unnecesary. . .
If you want to made a "upgrade" of your Sabbath collection go for the new 2009 remastered and deluxe packs of Black Sabbath, Paranoid and Master of Reality. . . Great sound, new and rare songs and beauty new packs.

sabbath

Ozzy, The father of metal. beautiful, erie, ozzy preaches love and Jesus and common scence.

Sound Quality is vastly improved
I bought this black box. My BS cd's were old and scratchy. Yeah they sound good. I push alot of wattage in my vehicles and these CD's hold up very well. No bass dumping or over emphasized hiss. Very good remastering. Now Bill Wards drums. . . they really jumps from the speakers. Now I have a chimp and if I play BS too loud now he runs out of the room and wont come back to that part of the house. Some times the music causes a dog vs ape fight so I have to be careful. I was going to take a star off for the violence but I wont cause of the improved sound quality.

Every home needs one
That is, this box represents the foundations of pretty much all heavy music from the early '70s on, and as such, is about as essential as rock music gets. If heavy metal had a Bible, then this box set would be the Five Books of Moses.

I won't belabor the points others have made. Pretty much everything here is highly listenable, powerful rock. The sound is by far the best of any Sabbath reissue. Everything is appropriately loud and clear, without the now-commonplace over-compression which mars a lot of remasters. These CDs sound as close to mint copies of the vinyl as possible. The DVD is kind of superfluous, but a nice addition to the audio contents. Also, the packaging is terrific, with its "None More Black" aesthetic. Basically, if you are in any way a fan of Black Sabbath, 70s metal, or heavy rock in general, you need these albums in some form. This just happens to be the most convenient from to get all of the Ozzy-era stuff. You can't rightly call yourself a metal fan unless you own some Black Sabbath--here's a nice way to get the best of it.
