Addicting
It is a masterpiece. You may listen to it once and think it just to be okay, but over time you may find yourself listenning to it more and more to the point that it is almost addicting. Battlefield, Sadly Sings Destiny, and And Then There Was Silence are the best songs.

This is amazing
It combines powerful electric guitar solos and a full orchestra on almost every song, along with the beautiful, strong voice of Hansi Kursch, often overlapped several times to produce a choral sound. This is one of the best CD's ever. And of course the fact that it includes the most epic song of all time, And Then There was Silence, helps a lot. .

All you need to know-
All other songs are just frosting on the cake, plain and simple. A Night at the Opera
Here's how it is- And Then There Was Silence is by far the most awesome song in the world, this is 14 minutes of epic guardian at their best and not even boring for a second, this song is completely worth the 15 bucks.

I hope this clears things up :).

What a medieval band would sound like if they had amps.

Ironically, this was the last album I ended up receiving. I recently just got into Blind Guardian with the release of the 2007 Remasters of their first 7 albums (not including the Tokyo Tales one), and I've come to really appreciate the mix of soaring power metal interlaced with medieval guitar solos. I ordered "Twist in the Myth" and this one at the same time (after I had acquired all the remasters, and for some reason "Night at the Opera" took a week longer to arrive. So obviously, I had a chance to listen to all of the other albums before this one. Well, I finally got this one and gave it a good listen. WOW!!! "Night at the Opera" is a sonic masterpiece. Layered with complex vocals and a seemingly never-ending medieval guitar rhythms. I honestly don't know how the guitarist keeps that stuff going all through-out the songs.

I thought "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" was great, but "Opera" is right up there. There ain't one bad song on this album. Each song is a masterpiece. However I could have done without the Spanish version of "Harvest of Sorrow". Just didn't fit with the rest of the album. My first exposure to this album was a MP3 of "Battlefield" and I loved the medieval themes in it. .

They guys always amaze me!
The release of their "Night At The Opera" CD just strengthens that - the choral singing and the feel of being in an opera or in a majestic sort of place of happiness and thrill - that's a good feeling! I love listening to all Blind Guardian CDs in general but this CD has a really powerful feel with the layered vocals and guitars - like an army or something at full force! There's no stopping these guys even with their 20 year career! This album's also been acclaimed well by magazines and such so that's key in factor letting you know you must get this!. Blind Guardian is one of those bands that I can listen to endlessly and never get bored of their music.
