New Wave at its best. This album is for casual fans of Blondie, but if you want the full New Wave experience - then I recommend purchasing all their studio albums. The Best of Blondie is the perfect greatest hits album. This album has some of their gems including Call Me, Heart of Glass, Rip Her to Shreds, One Way or Another and (I'm Always Touched by your) Presence Dear. Debbie Harry's voice is not flawless but that's ok because the guys make up for that with their signature and diverse sound. Great cd for Blondie beginners, enjoy!.
Blondie's Bests
The album reached #30 on the US Billboard 200 Album Chart and went Double Platinum. The Best of Blondie is forty-four minutes and thirteen seconds long and was released on October 31, 1981. If you just want the group most popular songs then this is for you. The Best of Blondie gets an AAA+++.

A GREAT START TO YOUR BLONDIE ADVENTURE
But you'd have had to live in a cave somewhere in the uncharted ocean to have not heard HEART OF GLASS, RAPTURE, OR CALL ME back in those heady days. Supergroup BLONDIE burst on the scene just as I was winding up my college days and I wasn't nearly into the music scene then as I had been earlier in my life because I was starting to struggle for the legal tender so I was keeping clubbing to a minimum.
Anyway, like most people, I still had not learnt how to truly appreciate the fine wine that is music, in its various genres, and I consigned BLONDIE to the status, in my mind, of sort of a glamorized bubble gum power pop.
20-30 years slide on by. . . .
But over the years, like the best of these fine wines that one's ears want to taste and taste over again, I found myself playing this CD among a very select few when I REALLY wanted to "rock out".
So I say to you, if somehow you are just now discovering BLONDIE, this CD will make a great start to your musical adventure. If you like the best in rock, pop, and theater, you are probably gonna want all four of the first albums by this New York supergroup!.
