Fantastic stuff
Blur are the best group of the 90's and they will continue being the greatest band on Earth in 2000, too. The best album I've ever heard, and trust me, I've heard a lot of albums. The new album is going to be massive, at least as massive as 13. So, take my advice, buy the album.

A rock/guitar milestone!
Graham's guitar playing in the album is so varied. Graham has his aggresive unique guitar playing on this album. This album is a guitar milestone. Not only is the guitar playing great, but the music itself is great! All songs are differerent, I mean completely different. You got your rock song, your glam, and even your pop, all the music (like the guitar playing) is so varied! This album is great, I elect this album for album of year. If somthing better comes along then I have something to look forward too! People, this is not group one hit singles on one cd like Parklife and Great Escape were, it is a real album in which Blur have gone back to their roots.

I like the album, but JUST BUY THE REGULAR VERSION!
All you get for your extra money is: a poster f/ the cover on one side [grahm's not a bad artist, but do you need more than just the cover sized version?] and a bunch of versions of the #13 which let you see how the 13 is actually a B. I love blur, and I loved this album [though sometimes I have no idea why], but you don't need to pay the extra dough for the 'limited edition'. Oo. And you get the enhanced extras: a discography you can access at their website and the band's thoughts on the 13 tracks + 3 more questions. Cool, right? But what do they have to say about each one? For example, Bugman. Alex: "This next song is Bugman, and it's heavy. " That's it! Don't expect any insight that will change your mind completely about the album--if you like the album, you'll like it still, but these extras won't turn you around. Oh yeah, and you get the box & silly bifold storage sleave. Oo.

So just buy the regular version of "13"; it's a good album, though not for the close minded.

Pete's Review of 13- Blur
However when I first listerned to the songs I was a little disappointed. When I bought the CD it was because I generally like Blur and so thought that it must be good. I continued to listern to the songs and began to understand the songs and then realised how great it actually was. The passion was incited because of the breaking up of him and his girlfriend. They say that the best music comes from painful experiances and this proves it! It sonds similar to Ian brown in the album Unfinished Monkey Business (which I also recommend) but with the extingishable Blur like shadow behind it.

Musically Diverse
Simply because it's more. Being a pure blur fan, i'd have to say that this latest album is probably the easiest to listen to for newcomers. . . elegant and diverse music-wise incorperating a wide range of different sounds, all of which are truelly beautiful and pleasant. They have certainly been changing their style to the point where i wouldn't classify them as brit-pop anymore. Although there ii, of course, traces of their fast pace, jump around sound on some songs. On the whole though, "13" is a more spacey sound (perhaps thank to the help of William Orbit) which seems to be where music is going nowadays, like w/ other bands souch as Radiohead & even Marilyn Manson. But unlike the way this type of music tends to have a similiar, out there type of lyrics, blur defenitely have hit home (or the heart rather) where every person alive can encorperate Damon's lyrics as a feeling to relate to (unlike their previous albums that told a lil' ficticious story in each song). It's cute to see Damon be so inspirational ("Come on, get through it") and use his WONDERFUL voice so diversely where he goes so deep it's soo sexy! And it's also good to here adorable Graham sing more too. This is an album that can rile you up and touch your heart too.

This box album is pretty good for a few more bucks. (You get to have a poster w/ Graham's cute lil' scribbles on it!!!) But the enhanced cd is really neat the way it was done. What i liked best was the stories the band told about how each song derived. (i was joyous to hear that damon's fav song on the album "CARAMEL" which is also my fav too (untill i start thinking hard about it then suddenly "swamp Song" enters my head along w/ "Trimm Trabb" and suddenly i'm all confused & the entire album becomes my fav song! All in all, i want to say this is my fav album, but then again it's too hard to pick a favorite blur-it's BLUR-IT'S ALL GOOD!!!! :).
