Blur single collection - costly, but worth it.
This collection includes every B side released in the UK made by Blur from 1990 to 1999. The Blur 10 Year Anniversary Box Set is very complete. This collection reflects the different sounds and true talent of Blur throughout the years. Highly recommend this set to any Blur fan wanting to complete their collection. .

10 Year Anniversary Box Set
And I do, let there be no doubt about that. I should start out by noting blur's status as my favorite band, which would predispose me to liking this set. The packaging itself is luxurious, something few bands ever have the distinction of receiving. Not only is it a collection of the singles and b-sides, but their original sleeves are all reproduced, in high-quality. It sounds silly to include that as a note, but these are gorgeous reproductions. The booklet isn't much more than a compilation of different covers for different formats of the various singles, but it's on excellent paper and is worth flipping through. All this is nice, but, obviously, the focus of the set is the music, and here's where it gets interesting. All the live b-sides are fantastic, that should be made clear. blur were a formidable live act, and their skills are in full display here. The studio b-sides vary in quality, as is the case for most bands. I found the majority of b-sides for all the singles off Leisure and Modern Life is Rubbish to be passable at best, and I didn't even get through most of them. After that, the band really hit their stride, and it's a conistently entertaining listen. Definitely not a purchase for those not familiar with the band, but for big fans, it's a must-buy.

Worth it, but sorry it's now out of print....
Blur singles are hard to find in America and so here is our answer. (repost by same reviewer, different name)
Blur may have strategically packaged all their singles and b sides in a cool case logic type packaging, divided them in 22 cds and 127 songs all in all, but it is worth it for all of you die hard blur fans. The lucky consumers will even get some live tracks. Blur's music have changed since their early years. The contents of the 22 cds will then cater to Blur fans who liked their music then and now. Each cd neatly enclosed in the singles' original cover sleeve, the whole collection may become valuable in the new millenium. Mind you only 7000 box sets are released, each with its own serial number.

Essential Blur
Blur is, hands down, the best British rock band of the last 15 years (yes, even better than Radiohead. . Blur did it FIRST, did it better, and without the ridiculous overhyping and pretension). This box set contains all of Blur's 22 singles (up to the point that this was released. . . they released 4 more singles. . . . Music is My Radar, Out of Time, Crazy Beat, and Good Song) and their b-sides, all in the original sleeves. Blur is one of those bands (along with Suede) where the b-sides were usually top-notch quality, and that's borne out in this set. Check out Young and Lovely, Ultranol, Explain, No Monsters in Me, Bone Bag, Peach, Tame, Magpie, All We Want, All Your Life, and Polished Stone (just to name a few)! Fantastic. While this is hard to find, especially in America, for a true Blur fan, it's essential.

It's like owning another 7 Blur albums
That's why this boxset is so essential. Blur made collecting cd singles a joy. Every song is quality (even Rednecks is a lot of fun), but the b-sides from the Modern Life Is Rubbish era has always been my favorite. I owned all of these singles on my own at one time, but when eBay FIRST introduced to me, I remember making like 90 bucks for the 2cd set on For Tomorrow, not to forget selling Popscene for $50, and Bang and the original There's No Other Way for the same. . . this boxset makes the grade. I like how if there were a part1&2, it's now on the same disc. Just great stuff. The only other band I think stood the test of time like this as far as really strong b-sides is Mansun. If you haven't b-sides from them, get Kleptomania. The fans picked their 14 or 15 on disc two, but again - every song is powerful. .
