Great Metal!
Pure, uncut, brutal non-conforming music. The Bleeding is an awesome death metal release. Bands don't need to sell out, have songs written for them, be a poser and lypsinc to sell albums, this bands proves that without a doubt. Brutal and awesome death metal from these death metal monsters!.

The Bleeding
CC stands for all that is foul, and in the musical sense, it has everything death metal is. Its "cute" to see people that clearly do not like death metal reviewing this album. Brutal riffs with underlying guitar chugging, extreme lyrics that will appeal to any horror fan, and relentless drumming that could shatter the eardrums. While this may not be their best album (that would go to Vile imho) it has songs on it that will satisfy any headbangers needs. If cannibal corpse can continue to offend people then they have achieved the true goal of "death" metal.

The lost sound
Owens has been one of my all time favorites and along with Barret, the guitar melodies and riffs are at the most brutal here. I believce that this is the album that really highlights Chris Barnes and Jack Owens/Rob Barret real talents. There are many many death metal/grindcore/noisecore bands around, but most sound all the same with the exception of varied levels of technical abilities. Few of these groups have their own unique sound and character. . . and few bring this to full conception like Cannibal Corpse. I think that this album puts it all together. The song writing, melodies, vocal approach, and production quality just seem to gel on this album! You can't tell me that these guitar players are anything less than brilliant on this recording, the complex layers, and absolute style is all their own.
I notice that the trend of bands in this genre as well as CC in the years to follow this alum tend to become more groove core oriented, as well as dumbing down the complex songwriting opting for something more digestable. I think a whole generation missed out on the more creative and complex sounds of earlier grindcore. Around 1995 most bands went either super technical or groove core, and I still miss the absolute insanity of this earlier style of music. I think that this was the last of the the original CC sound and the one I most appreciate. CC along with AC, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer, and Regurgitate still remain my favorites. Peace.

this album shreds and should be in all true DM fans collection. don't listen to the worthless opinions of others who bag this album. if this crap is boring to you or sounds the same then you probably don't really have a heart for Death Metal. just get this album and you'll see.

The Bleeding
I don't know what it is about this album that just makes me really get into it. Of all Cannibal Corpse's albums, this is the one I find myself listening to the most. The strange thing about this conclusion is the fact that I prefer Fisher's vocals to Barnes'. I'm not saying that one is better than the other, I'm simply saying that I prefer the vocals of Fisher. Anyways, what we have here is a great collection of death metal. This isn't the height of Cannibal Corpse's technicality (you'll find their latest work "Kill" to be far more technical than previous release as they tend to push the envelope with every new album), and it certainly isn't their most creative lyrically, but if you're a fan of the genre, you will be in love with this onslaught of unbridled Death metal. If I were to suggest a Cannibal Corpse record to a newcomer, it would probably be this one. Also be forewarned that there is another version of this album that includes extended artwork and bonus tracks. I don't have that version, but I would suggest that you try and find it.
