Non-fan reviews are often dimissed right away by myriads of unhelpful votes, I know, but I thought I could always still give an objective insight especially on the sound department. I got this on a limited edition CD+DVD because I had liked Live Cannibalism and wanted another CC DVD.
This cd is yet faster and more brutal (as if that were possible) yet not at technical as some previous ones -I did'nt hear much of Webster's intricate trademark solos- and the guitars are not as prominent in the mix as I would have liked. The cd has too much bottom end and the double kickdrum attacks stand out too much in the mix to the point of drowning the at times mosquito-sounding guitarwork. I had to add a lot of treble to the signal while on the other hand lower the sub which seemed like it would explode any minute. IMHO this band rules live but only live. This has been a sample of their studio work and was just OK. I'll concentrate on the DVDs which all rule. If you don't have any try to get Live Strasbourg 2004, Live Cannibalism or even Vile Live. Avoid Monolith Of Death cause it has bootleg quality.
