Great comeback... With this single, they sorta return to the sounds of "Life", more acoustic and guitar-based. Five years have passed since The Cardigans released "Gran Turismo", a definite masterpiece to me.
The song "For what it's worth" has a really catchy tune and the lyrics are also "worth" paying attention to: "for what is worth, I love you". At first I thought I was listening to another song by a "A camp" (which kinda dissapointed me), but after a few tries, the old cardigans style comes to mind. It should top the charts here in the U. S. , but these guys don't get much attention in America. . . a shame.
The other song, "Das Model 00" sounds like "Paralyzed" from their previous album. But don't get me wrong, it has a unique sound and it is also sung in swedish (I guess), they should have included it on their upcoming album.
And finally, "The Road", which is nearly seven minutes long, reminds me of their previous work (this one has better lyrics, though). This song could also make it as an A-side on any of their previous albums.
Well, to end my review I have to say that all Cardigans fans will be very pleased with their upcoming album, because the first single and these B-sides are all winners, and a must-listen for those into alternative music (for some reason I don't think this is a pop album).
I hope they hit big here in the U. S. , they deserve more media attention because they know how to make music.
