Disappointing followup to one of her best albums.
So when she released E=MC^2, expectations were high. When Mariah Carey released Emancipation of Mimi in 2005, it became a huge hit, and gave her the success she had struggled to obtain for the last few years. Sadly, I don't think she lived up to them.

A lot of the songs are very good, such as "Migrate," "Touch My Body," "I'm That Chick," and my favorite song on here, "I'll Be Loving You Long Time. " But while Emancipation set a trend, E=MC^2 seemed to be a sheep following the trend. It almost sounds as if she rerecorded songs that were originally intended for the former, and then put on here. But the only thing that makes the tracks not sound like they were taken from a vault was the fact that her voice is inferior this time around.

Overall, I think this album satisfied in the short term, but didn't deliver in the long run. It's like hoping for a prime rib dinner, and getting McDonald's. It'll do, but it doesn't satisfy as well. All Mariah fans will want this, but they're also the only ones who will.

Some of the best songs on this CD include "Touch My Body", "Side Effects", and "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time". I'm a big Mariah Carey fan and although I enjoyed this CD, its not her greatest. If you are a MC fan then I would recommend this CD. .


A Rather Enjoyable Album

Touch My Body-the lead single, but there are many better tracks, it is still a rather enjoyable and upbeat jam, though-4/5
Cruise Control-a rather enjoyable, reggae influenced song, however it is not really my style, but she still makes it good anyway-4/5
I Stay In Love-the album's best track, a beautiful ballad full of emotion,very well-written,great vocals on this one-5/5
Side Effects-a sad and emotional portrayal of her rough marriage to her jerk husband, deep and heartfelt lyrics, great musically too-5/5
I'm That Chick-a groovy, danceable jam with a catchy chorus and nice backbeat-5/5
Love Story-a ballad, good but just average compared to some trackd-4/5
I'll Be LOving U LOng Time-a catchy and upbeat 70s influenced song, another highlight of the album-5/5
Last Kiss-a nice ballad but not one of the stronger tracks-3. Migrate-a dance number like It's LIke That from 2005's the Emancipation of Mimi, catchy and danceable but one of the weaker tracks because it doesn't really suit Mariah-3. 5/5
Thanx 4 Nothin'-an okay track-3. 25/5
O. O. C-a great jam, very enjoyable and upbeat like touch my body-4/5
For The Record-another one of my favorites, emotional with a catchy chorus and a reference to some of her old songs from the 90's--5/5
Bye Bye-an emotional tribute to anyone whose lost someone, very well-written, however it is not as strong as One Sweet Day, one of her older songs from back in the 90s that also was about that-4. 5/5
I Wish You Well-a beautiful,goseplish songs about how she has made it thorugh the rough time swith God and that she has learned to wish her old husband well and keep trusting in God-4. 5/5

Exceptionaly good CD wit really good songs if you love Mariah you will love this CD.
