Which compilation is right for you?

I'll make it easy: if you want exactly what you hear on the radio -- no more, no less -- on one CD, then ** this is the one for you **. SO YOU'RE FINDING THAT you like songs by The Cars, and you'd like to buy some of their music. Oh sure, there was already 1985's GREATEST HITS, but "You Are the Girl" came after that was released. If you can do without that song, then that GREATEST HITS should do as well as this one.

Eventually you may find yourself wanting more, and start buying the original albums to see if there are other gems not included here. There are, and you're probably best-advised to buy them in the order they were made.

Then you'll be ready for JUST WHAT I NEEDED, to get the early demos and B-sides not included on the albums. That compilation (along with the deluxe 2-CD version of their debut album) is aimed at those who have become obsessed with the band, and want more than the studio releases provide.

Are they really worth it? Why yes, of course! Since you've come this far. Then you'll be giving your scratched and finger-smudged GREATEST HITS CD to some younger relative or acquaintance; you won't need it anymore.
