Awesome
Come n 4 reviews, I mean the music is genius. After coming by to see the reviews of others punks like myself, I can fully understand what The Casualties are talking about. Even the punks arent real punks, they are listening to The Ataris, and bands like Brand New, who dont get me wrong is a good band to listen too, but they do nothing to make no diffrence. This band is trying to find the middle ground that will eventually lead us to a Utopia which will ultimately be messed up by the masses. The superficial music, including punk, that is out know has driven me crazy. Its about time that music makes a diffrence in our life. The Casualites are that band, which will make a diffrence in the way you think, and not to mention their hair is awesome. If you are going to listen to music that makes a diffrence Im glad your thinking of starting with The Casualties, but dont forget about bands that opened those doors. Minor Threat, The Dead Kennedys, and the thousands of other bands that will go un-named because of I dont know who to start with. Once more dont forget about the new bands who are trying to make a diffrence, such as Anti-Flag and Good Riddance, untill we start listening to music that makes a diffrence, nothing will change, and if nothing changes then we are in for a rough future in America, rock on, and say goodbye to individualism.

.... more than just good hair
This is a good album to start with if you are not familiar with the Casualties, or if you want to re-visit the experience of one of their live shows. Start with 77 and early eighties influences, add beer, the best hair in the business and a heavy dose of punk pride and attitude and you have the Casualties. The Casualties are for real!.

A good, dumb, punk record
However, if you just want to drink some 40's and pogo all night, this album is for you. If you are looking for insightful, political, revolutionary punk, then this isn't your record. For The Punx is far from groundbreaking, but it is full of solid, fun streetpunk songs that are great to sing along to. The Casualties are arguably the best streetpunk band in the world currently, and this is the record that started it all. Too bad all the lame little wannabe casualties kids had to go and ruin all the fun.
Note- The tracks listing on this page for the album is wrong, those songs are from some different band.

something we could live without
Warning: its very easy to be drawn in by the image of these guys looking overly "punked out" on the cover of this record. For the Punx gets 3 stars from me simply because it can be fun to listen to at times. The content however, is sorely lacking. There is very little intelligence to be had. Consider this: "Oi! We are the spikey haired drunk punks!" Jorge and the gang play their game with a great deal of enthusiasm, and they seem to enjoy what they do. But if you're looking for something that will wake up your brain, even just a little, I would recommend eschewing them in favor of anything by New Jersey's Lower East Side Stitches, who show that American streetpunk bands are capable of talent and intelligence. The Casualties, however, are just a bit too full of themselves and their fashion to be taken seriously at any level.

Great American Streetpunk band
For The Punx and Underground Army are my favorite cds of The Casualties, Stay Out Of Order is a great album as well, and Die Hards is good but not as good as the others. The Casualties are a great American Streetpunk band. For The Punx shows lead singer Jorge's vocals at his best, his vocals are good in both English and Spanish(the song Chaos Punx is in spanish) For the Punx is a really good cd. Oi! Oi! Oi!.
