Innovation where it is needed!
Every track is first curious then suprising. Finally, in our saturated music world, this "melting-pot" of an album brings something truly refreshing. Try mixing jazz, latino, hip hop and a little rock in your head and you might get close to what these guys have to offer!.

well worth the import price
well let me tell you with pride that they are the COOLEST, HIPPEST jazz cats around. If you're not from Australia, you're probably wondering who this cat empire gang are. having totally dominated the melbourne live music scene for a couple of years by literally blowing everybody away with their raw on-stage energy (and i mean real, clever improvised music, not just dumb sweaty guys turning up the volume on their amps), it is fair to say you haven't had a night out unless you've danced your ass off to THE CAT EMPIRE. never before have i felt such a sense of euphoria (no drugs involved) while dancing to live music.
With 'days like these' taken from their self titled first commercially released album, they have managed to maintain the energy of playing live while adding the extra crispiness of a studio recording. Absolutely superb!.

The freshest and best group to hit in years
Now I am a real believer in the talent that Australia has to offer the world. I have heard this single and some from the full album. `Days Like These' is a great uplifting song, that most can relate to. With a mix of Latin, Swing and Hip-Hop it keeps you moving from start to end.
My advise to any self respecting music lover (of any style) get this and play it load, so load you house shakes. If you love this check out the other songs on the album, like my favourite `The Crowd'.
For this price it's a real bargain, I would have payed twice for the feeling it has given me.
