ease off the identities the music: I have been listening to this cd regularly for over two years, and I still find new layers, new nuances. Re. Pure unadulterated magic. Re. Manu Chao: father Galician; mother Basque(?); brought up in Paris with Algerians, Senegalese; lover of Latin America. . . Where is he from?? He would probably say that if you have to ask you'll never know.
Romance in the air
This is a calm CD when compared to mano negra, but you can feel the same tension and vibes hidden behind it. This a beautiful summer CD to listen to with someone special.
Viva Manu Chau y Viva Galicia
An exceptionally rich potpourri of musical styles that improves with each playing. As all the reviews state, this is a fantastic disc. I want to correct what some reviewers said though. I'm pretty sure that Manu is neither Mexican nor French but, rather, Spanish, and Gallego to be more precise. He's also probably not singing in Portuguese (along with Spanish, English and French), but in Gallego (Galician). Just my two cents worth.
bienvenidos a tijuana!
the fact is that we get into his mood, we feel we're elsewhere when we listen to this beauty. CLANDESTINO is one of the best albuns i've ever heard! totally pure and different from the usual stuff every artist plays - manu's got his own unique style, and yes, repeating rythms and lyrics during the whole cd. I highly recomend it to those who do not have limited heads! p. s. : and please, he does NOT sing in italian, but in brazilian PORTUGUESE, as one of the reviewers said. . . he's also FRENCH, and not mexican, as the same person wrote!.
music fan
