A FANTASTIC FIND!!! All of us were like, "Who the hell is this amazing, creative singer???" I'm so glad I found this, as I love the entire album, and you won't find anything in the early 2000's as fresh and creative as this. A friend of mine, from the Carribean, had this album playing in the background at a party. If you're thinking you might get this out of curiosity, DO IT! I promise, you will not be disappointed. This is particularly a good driving album, as it blends so many genres and tempos that you end up tapping your feet and singing along (even if you don't know what the lyrics mean)! "Me Gustas Tu" is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I never get tired of listening to it. . . It's so darn catchy!
What a talent.
GREAT CD
got here in good shape, love the CD!!
todo es lo que parece, !!! me encanta el disco (Manu Chao, . . Proxíma Estación. . . ESPERANZA) !!!!!.
This Album Knocked Me Out (in a good way)
The style is simultaneously simple and complex. This album was my first experience with Manu Chao. From a musical standpoint, the instrumentation is primarily acoustic with simple rhythms, but lyrically and conceptually, nothing is simplistic about this masterpiece. Various audio and linguistic themes weave their way through the work, giving the listener the experience of time suspension much like that of an insomniac in a sedated state of relaxed almost-sleep where thoughts almost form, transform into other thoughts, and then evaporate only to be replaced by new thoughts.
Manu Chao employs a unique mixture of languages which form a drifting and ever changing cultural context. I've never heard anything like it.
Surprised
It brightens my day anytime I listen to it. I am a classical music buff and have found this recording to be a delight. I would highly recommend it.
it doesnt get much better than this!
