My, How I Miss this Man
Legends has some of the great live songs but also songs such as Stranger with the mellody's , that give a glimpse into the heart of this man. Harry was more than a performer, He was , to those who saw him, a freind. If yoo seen Harry, count youself lucky. They'll never be another like him.

I grew up listing to my Dad's 8 tracks. . and completely wore out this album. . . It is my favorite of Harry Chapin's Albums. . . You Must get it. . . His family has a website, and they sell it!!!!Get it. . trust me you'll love it :).

It looks like the family has finally gotten the rights to most of Harry's music, and is re-releasing some of the out of print stuff.

I have to admit that Legends was my first Chapin album (I came late to the fold) but has always been my favorite. I bought the record after hearing him in concert (in the middle o nowhere, Rolla MO) and I practically wore the grooves off the vinyl, listening to it. I've been intermittently searching for a CD for the last 10 years and am thrilled to have located it at the Chapin Family music site.

Harry wasn't cool, but by ghod he was sincere. A rare quality.

Mail Order Annie is my favorite song.

He has combined ballads, humor and drama into one great album. This album should not be missed by anyone who considers themselve a Chapin fan. Odd Job Man and Copper are my personal favorites. Harry Chapin was one of the very few artists who could take a great song and make it better live. This is one of my favorite albums of his. . . and I have them all. Enjoy it. . . it would be hard not to.


Some of Chapin's Best Songwriting
But if you ever got joy from sitting and listening to Harry tell you a story, that in a few minutes made you feel like you experienced a two hour movie, this album will hold up well and give you many special moments. Sure this album is not full of "hits" and many weren't even familiar or released prior to the live versions. Some of these songs became favorites of mine and I feel any Chapin fan should give it a chance and a good listen. The more I heard it the more it grew on me. I was fortunate enough to get to see Harry live once and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. This album helps bring back a bit of that joy, and definitely keeps Harry alive.
