What a loss to the music scene. . Harry Chapin was a talented singer and songwriter and this album contains some of the best of his work.
Still the greatest!
The stories of life he tells are wonderful. Years later Harry Chapin is still the greatest. I can picture every line in my head. One of my favorites.
One of the Essential albums of all time
Harry Chapin is a musical genius, a Grand Master Painter. No Music collection should be without this CD. That is, he can a picture with words, and paint he does. The whole picture, the whole nine yards. What you get is a movie within a song, a song that tells a story, complete with charactors that you care about, that you feel for, that you can relate to. A Masterpiece. If a picture can paint 1,000 words, then Chapin can paint the Sistine Chapel with his songs. It is nothing short of Brilliant. A great way to introduce yourself to his music, or, if you an old fan, a way to reconnect with the best. I gave this album 5 stars only because that is the most you can give. It deserves a lot more. Stop reading this review, and order the CD NOW! You won't be disappointed. .
Greatest hits album- no better, no worse
But the greatest hits albums are getting old and this is just another one. Don't get me wrong- I'm a huge Harry Chapin fan. No more, no less. The only song worth getting the album for is "Dreams Go By", as it is unavailable on any other album, except "Greatest Stories Live". Still good songs. There's just so many better albums you can get them on.
Harry Chapin....yes!
I'm an avid Harry Chapin fan. The Essentials This is a collection of Harry Chapin's top songs. After listening to the CD, you won't be able to get Taxi out of your head just like you couldn't when you first heard it. Go, Harry, go. We need more new singers like you!.
