Amazing I was so naive. I listened to this disc literally once years ago, and wrote it off in the first second. . . never gave the album a real chance. It is amazing. Now I've got all three live releases and this is right up there with flint michigan. The thing I LOVE about this disc is, its right in my era of clutch (pre-Blast Tyrant) so the track listing is my favorite by far, and I also notice JP Gaster is in the pocket 100% of the time, grooving so hard in every song its incredible. This is amazing, JP kills it for me, Brazenhead, careful with that mic jam. . . he is rediclious here. Best part of the live act. I've seen em 12 times, they are right on top with a band called world inferno for me; i love clutch.
Amazon should get new shipping boxes for LPs
A live album from a great band. The disk is good.
The album showed up in OK condition but it had been stuffed into a box too small for it and the dust cover got beat-up as a result.
I wasn't about to return the album in an attempt to get one here without damage. The LP works well enough and the album art isn't so spectacular as to warrant hanging it up anyway.
Henry Rollins? Danzig?! Monster Magnet?
I find loads of deals on used CD's from these guys. I love Amazom. I plug Amazon to all people I meet into heavy music. But Please DO NOT listen to the review listed above! The day Clutch sounds like any of those bands is the day you accidentally (hopefully) turn on Oprah and see her toking a huge doob and reciting Slayer lyrics backwards. In defense of Clutch, one of the greatest stoner rock bands on the planet, I had to write this review. And ANY live Clutch is killer and deserves to be bought. .
Katherine Turman should not review Clutch
She has no basis for comparison. I think Katherine's review sucks. Fu Manchu? pshaw. I don't see how Fu Manchu is anything like Clutch. Danzig? Uh, your mother. Best not to bring Monster Magnet into the fray, either. All great bands, but all unique and different from the guys from Baltimore.
I feel bad that she was saddled with this review, as she clearly did her best without having some comparable bands in mind, and indeed, who does compare Clutch with?
But, sucky sucky review not so lucky.
Clutch in concert is one of the tightest, most precise outfits I have witnessed. The experience, for me, grazed on respect, flirted with incredulity, feasted on power, reveled in charging bliss.
I'm buying this disc based upon all that. And the fact that every other Clutch album sits on a rack opposite (and a little to the right) the CD player in envy of the next time its go-round number comes up.
Could you please turn the vocals up?
If the vocals were any louder on this cd, it would have to have been called "Neil Fallon Yells For an Hour at the Googleplex".
