Slow journey
It has a smokey vibe that they roll up and light and blow it into your face. Any of Clutchs music does not jump out and grab you. You know where they stand when you listen to this album and band.

Big bluesy fat slabs of space-age jam metal
They pummel you with Sabbath style riffs; they groove with the best of jam bands; they've got a vein of blues straight out of the Delta, and the whole thing is wrapped up in a sci-fi concept that comes right out of Rush's playbook, or even the Hawkwind missal. Where do I even start with this album? There's so much going on with this band and they do it so well it's almost impossible to translate it into words.
The lyrics are humorous, intelligent, nonsensical, poetic and all sung with Neil Fallon's superb, bluesy bellow.
Clutch is one of those "best bands you probably haven't heard of", and if I didn't stumble across 10001110101 on the radio, I would still be in the dark, but thanks to that moment of mind-blowing serendipity I am hooked. If you're looking for a unique, talented band, making music that runs completely counter to the homogenous dreck cluttering up the airwaves, you have just found it. Adjust your pants, and dance the good time dance. (But then again that's a different album. ).

Incredible
I am a metalhead at heart like most people here but its nice to chill out, listen to some indie hip hop, like Aesop Rock, Prolyphic once in a while, some classic rock like Tom Petty and Steve Miller, nothing wrong with raising the horns to Opeth or Between the Buried and Me. Seriously you have no taste in music if this album doesn't get 5 stars. But one of all time favorites, Clutch put out one of the best rock albums I've ever heard with this. I'll recommend this album to anyone!! Get it NOW.

Seriously STOP READING THIS REVIEW AND SUPPORT THIS INCREDIBLE BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Temples of Syrinx Having the Bake Sale of the Year...
I bought "Robot Hive" based solely on the glowing reviews posted here. I love Clutch's "Clutch" CD, and I was looking for another one to add to my collection. Amazing music as advertised. It's a must own for anyone into heavy rock with a sense of humor and brains to burn.

Rockers must own this
O. If you like (Pepper Keenan's) C. C. , or old Blackfoot, or Black Sabbath, you will love this record. Do not hesitiate, just buy it. They are unique; I simply mention those other bands as a reference point musically (although Clutch does not sound like any particular one of them, they truly created their own sound!). Chock full of incredible riffage and fantastic lyrics as usual. After long overlooking them, Clutch has become my new favorite band, thanks to their unflinching dedication and musicianship. If you do not know them but like hard rock with attitude and yes--humor, buy this and just pres PLAY. :headbanger:
