Magnum's Song" It was featured on an episode of Magnum PI that I especially liked and I knew it was Joe Cocker. Ultimate Collection
I bought this album originally because I wanted the song- "I'M SO GLAD I'M STANDING HERE TODAY. If you like him, you will like this album. There are old standards like "Cry Me A River" & "Unchain My Heart", and of course Joe's Hits, "You Are So Beautiful", etc. And there are a few others that I was not familiar with, but I enjoyed them all. I would highly recommend this album, if nothing else for his hits, but I think you will get a lot more than that!.
Disappointing
This CD is overly orchestrated and the duet is almost embarrassing. I'm a Cocker fan from way back and was looking for the hard rocker version. I feel like the kid on "Hook" that squeezes Robin William's face (as Peter Pan) and sorta sees Peter. Every now and then I hear the old rocker but more often than not it just sounds like a Tony Bennett cover of songs with a raspy voice. Where has Joe gone?.
Joe Cocker at his best
After all, Joe Cocker is Joe Cocker - he's a legend. I bought this album for "Feeling Alright" and was happy with the rest of the selections.
.
Joe Cocker Rocks
I only wish that they had included "Hitchcock Railway", a great early Cocker Rocker that was always one of my favorites. A really excellent collection of some of Joe Cocker's best works including the best cover song ever; "With a Little Help from Me Friends", and also the later "Unchain My Heart" another great power vocal from Joe. All in all though a great retrospective of the eclectic Joe Cocker!! .
Past Memories Revived
It will take you back and clear away the cobwebs to memories you may have forgotten. Wow!
You are going to want to experience this music again! Not only does it sound wonderful, it plays better than it did originally.
Thank you Joe!! Keep rockin'. .
