Prospekt's March - Perfectly seperated from Viva La Vida, yet still somehow fits...
Life In Technicolor II, Postcards From Far Away, Glass of Water, Rainy Day, Prospekt's March, and Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground are the six new songs on this CD. Prospekt's March, the EP released shortly after Viva La Vida, is an excellent addition to the list of music off of Coldplay's fourth album. I personally LOVE LiTii (Life in Technicolor ii) and Glass of Water for the faster songs. My favorite slow song is Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground, although Prospekt's March does come pretty close. Lost+ and Lovers In Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) are the two remixes from Viva La Vida. Lost+ contains a section of Jay-Z doing his thing in the middle of the song (which I personally don't care to listen to, but I suppose if you like it than more power to you. . . ) and Lovers In Japan is nothing more than a ever-so-slightly sped up version of the original with a few extra vocals in the chorus parts.

Final opinion: It's not meant to stand on it's own with only eight tracks, and only five or six of them only really being new. . . but this CD is an excellent addition to Viva La Vida. It rounds it out nicely with some incredible tracks, which we've come to expect from Coldplay. If anything, this CD makes me anticipate even more what they'll come out with next.


A nice adendum to Viva la Vida
The only one I didn't care for was "Lost+". The songs here come in the same vein as Viva La Vida. Jay-Z's vocals in the middle just didn't seem to jell with the song. However, now when I listen to the original version, it sounds like it needs something else in there.

Better than Viva La Vida!
However, they seem to have saved the best and most interesting songs for Prospekt's March! Highly recommended - better than Viva La Vida!. DISCLAIMER: I'm a big fan of Coldplay, and I really like Viva La Vida.


A Fine Collection of Songs
In my opinion this is not the case. This Ep is composed mainly of outtakes from Cold plays "Viva la Vida" album, so you might expect that the level would be somewhat lesser than the "motheralbum". Apart from the rather short playing time, the EP actually works well as a small album.

This, of course, is due to the fact that the EP offers a handful of very fine songs. Not the least vocal version of "Life in Technicolor" is a highlight. "Glass of Water" and "Rainy Day" are both fine compositions that easily could have been used on the "Viva" album. The acoustic closing number "Now My Feet Will not Touch the Ground" is a perfect conclusion to a fine release. If you, as I do, enjoy "Till Kingdom Come" from "X&Y" "Now My Feet Will not Touch the Ground" will be a safe "hit".


Near Perfect EP
Most EPs suck. This is the best EP I have bought in a LONG time. But I'm very happy to recommend this EP to all Coldplay fans and those who want to try out Coldplay.

Life in Technicolor II is just as good if not better than the "original".

PostCards from Far Away is a beautiful little piano ditty; Glass of Water and Rainy Day are both catchy, perfect upbeat Coldplay songs fully worthy of being on a full release album. If you had to get just 1 song off this EP, I would recommend one of these two.

Prospekt's March/Poppyfields is kind of boring to me. It sounds like something from "X&Y" without the spacy sounds. I just don't care for it.

Now my Feet Won't Touch the Ground is okay, another slow song; the acoustic guitar and trumpets at the end save it from mediocrity. I still tend to skip over it.

The Lovers in Japan remix is great, the same one on their music video. Lovers in Japan was my favorite song off of Viva La Vida and this rendition isn't much different so I like it.


One star knock off for Jay-Z's addition to Lost!. I understand that he's one of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's children's "uncle" according to some entertainment thing I read. Which is why I guess he was featured on this song because I can see no other rhyme or reason to a gangsta rapper on a Coldplay album!.
