Creeper
I was right in the middle of this melee and can attest to the veracity of its impossibility. I'm the West Virginia Creeper so I can't legitimately review my own work, so I'll just pass. .

Good stuff, bad recordings
I can't put up with the sound quality like another reviewer was able to. You really have to be a completist, devoted fan to enjoy this set. Lots of tinny sound and static--a few good songs but I can't handle 2 hours of this. I love all the other recordings by this group, but not this. Sorry.

Excellent--good to see rarities finally officially released
This two - disc set is excellent, wonderful packaging, nice liner notes, entertaining photos, etc. As a long-time fan of CCLPA, I was very excited to see an official release of older material. This album shines light on the band in their formative years, providing insight as to what they evolved from. Both discs are excellent. The first disc is very early recording sessions, taken from old tapes. The sound quality has been cleaned up as much as possible, and is very listenable, however, if you are looking for crystal clear sound, you won't find it in these types of recordings. Age and other factors take their toll on things like this, however, it is still quite good, just keep in mind that these are recordings that are nearly 40 years old. Definately worth listening to.

Disc two, has wonderful sound quality, start to finish. The music is excellent, and the band definately sounds a little more polished and established. The tracks offered here are wonderful, including a very nice cover of "First I Look At The Purse" which, I would think very few people heard since it was originally recorded.

If you are a casual fan, or unaware of what CCLPA was all about, this disc is still worth picking up, however, you might want to combine this with one of the band's other releases, to get a better grasp on the bigger picture of what the band was really all about.

Special thanks to Billy C. Farlow, and everyone else involved, for helping to make this release possible.
