A PERFECT ALBUM
I was always a huge Soundgarden fan before Chris released this album and I was fearing that it would be a tragedy, but to me, it turned out to be quite the opposite. I bought this album when it was first released and I've never grown bored of it. This album perfectly demonstrates Chris' incredible talent in both singing and song writing. On this album you will get all the things you'd expect from Chris Cornell - attitude, passion and guts - this album is INCREDIBLE. The songs are packed with emotion and experience, you feel it resonate within you as you listen. This man really knows how to reach people through his music. It has been my favourite album since I bought it and still is, you MUST buy this album. .

Excellent
This could have been the next Soundgarden album. This is an awesome solo effort from one of music's best voices.

love love love
I loved Cornell's voice but not most of the Soundgarden stuff. I bought this cd blind. I ended up playing this continuously. Totally not commercial, nor loud grunge rock - and he has the MOST amazing voice in the world. I have to stop myself from playing this and only this all the time.

Worth several second times listening...
I had always liked Soundgarden, but was more into STP and Alice in Chains. I really got into CC after hearing the first Audioslave album. But when I heard Audioslave, I knew there was a powerhouse I needed to learn more about. So I kind of got into Chris bass-ackwards. I came across Euphoria Morning in the bargain-bin section of my local record store, and didn't really like it at first, probably because I was expecting either Audioslave or Soundgarden. But, inexplicably, I grew to like and later love this album, and CC's ability to express himself. The lyrics and the music grew on me like ivy; infiltrating every pore and joint til I couldn't rave enough about it. Favorite song? Probably has to be "When I'm Down. " People who don't like this album haven't listened to it enough, I think. Also, my son (who is one of my favorite people on the planet) joined the Marines just about the same time I started listening to "Steel Rain" and "Preaching The End Of The World," so those factors really collided to make them the anthem for my pain. He (my son) is doing fine and I finally became OK with it, but I will always cherish this album and those 2 songs because of CC's ability to articulate my feelings for me. Try it; if you don't like it, set it aside and try it again when you feel like the world has caved in on you, and see if you don't find something in it to relate to. .

One of the best albums of all time. And 14 others.
Their as annoying as they are useful. Reviews of music are always, at their core, subjective. So here's mine.

I understand when people say that albums by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Stones or whoever, are the best ever, or classic, or groundbreaking or whatever. . . but I have to go with what has hit me where I live, from my generation. . . what has reached out and grabbed me and changed my life (as did the aforementioned albums likely did to their admirers. . . which I'll admit, I'm a fan of many of those older albums). When music moves you truly, who cares if it's groundbreaking, who cares about the trends who cares about anything other than the fact that a human being has used God's gift of music to communicate truth. . . or lies. . . whatever is real. . . and those songs/albums that hit you SO completely where you are. . . often are the timeless ones. . . they've found a way of being ALIVE every time they are played. . . they almost never get old. . . in fact they seem to age right along with you and change. . .

In my opinion these are the 15 greatest albums of the last 20 years:

1. Jeff Buckley - Grace
2. Chris Cornell - Euphoria Morning
3. Sting - The Soul Cages
4. Tori Amos - LIttle Earthquakes
5. Rufus Wainwright - Poses or Want One (take your pick)
6. Sam Phillips - A Boot and a Shoe
7. Muse - Absolution
8. Soundgarden - Superunknown
9. Nirvana - Nevermind
10. Radiohead - OK Computer
11. Teddy Thompson - Up Front and Down Low
12. Patty Griffin - 1000 Kisses
13. Thomas Newman - Shawshank Redemption (Soundtrack)
14. Thomas Newman - Road To Perdition (Soundtrack)
15. Mitch Watkins - Strings With Wings

So anyways. . . yeah, Euphoria Morning. . . I could go on for days about this album. . . and still not scratch the surface as to why it's so great. . . it's my favorite album of extremely well crafted songs and organically produced audio. . . the incredible thing is how it's SO crafted and yet SO unique and yet SO emotional and epic in the songwriting and the performances. . .

Jeff Buckley's Grace is MORE of a performance based record. . . less crafted. . . and equally great for different. . and the same reasons. . . .

Okay I'll stop here:-)

Bye!.
