GREAT CD!
ONE OF THE BEST, FOR ME, GREAT SONGS, FULL OF FEELING, AS HE USUALLY DOES.
IF YOU ARE A CULTURE CLUB FAN, YOU'LL LOVE THIS CD. SIMPLY, THE BEST OF BOY GEORGE!.
INCREDIBLE!!
Found it in a used CD store in MPLS for $5 in 2009. I didn't even know about this CD. IT is probably the best they ever did. Smooth soul/reggae/pop sound. Boy George sounds great. Sweet melodies!! Backing vocals are nice!! Mickey's bass sounds fab!!.
A Masterpiece, Stellar Work!
I lived through the mayhem and the afterglow. I have followed the work of George and the rest of the members of CC since their inception, and am an avid collector and admire their talent and music. I strongly encourage anyone who enjoyed their early success to find a copy of Don't Mind If I Do, and give it a listen. Filled with mature, spot-on lyrics and catchy melodies, this CD is unsurpassed in terms of emotions and living through the journey we call life.
For the first REAL time, we are fully in the know as to the stories we are hearing, no more coded words and nonsensical phrases George became so noted for. From the opening plea for compassion: I just Wanna Be Loved through Your Kisses are Charity, we see the Boy become a Man of wisdom and insight into the hearts of the sensitive human being. His vocals shine on each of these tracks too, like a fine wine he became a Golden vocalist. Stand outs are plentiful: Cold Shoulder, Weep for The Child, Strange Voodoo, Maybe I'm a Fool, and the brilliant Sign Language ~ Which should have been a single.
For those who kind of wandered away from the magic that was Culture Club, I can almost guarantee that you will be pleasantly surprised at the depth and artistry found on Don't Mind If I Do. This music will hold up against anything you put it against, song for song. It has all the markings of a flawless classic pop album.
Boy George is Awesome!!
I Have never heard this songs on this Import CD before except of course the top singles that became hits in the US. Not only is Boy George a great singer he is also a great person, and of course the band must be given credit as well. the songs in this CD will grow on you fantastic vocals and Lyrics from Boy George and great tunes makes it a great buy!!!.
A must-have for any Boy George fan
If you really loved their music, it's a nice mix. I'm sure it goes without saying that if you're not really a Boy George / Culture Club fan, you probably won't like this CD. Being honest, it sounds as though he'd lost some of his range by the time this was recorded. . . but it's still good & I love him anyway! .
