Erotic Cure First Cure CD I bought - mainly for Just Like Heaven. Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. This to me is The Cure's erotic and sensual cd. I think Robert Smith does love songs like no other, it almost makes me cry. I also like Robert Smith howling so of course I would love this CD. This CD sounds best at night on a cross country trip or in bed with your partner, try it!!
The Kiss still makes me laugh when I hear Robert screaming, I wish you were DEAD - a great tune!!
Love the exotics - Snakepit, If Only Tonight We Could Sleep, Like Cockatoos.
Love the Love songs - One More Time and A Thousand Hours
All I Want is a great animalistic tune and pretty much says it. . .
It is a long CD but love all the tunes on it.
If you like Erotic Cure, this one is for you!! Trust me!!.
I grew up on this stuff...
I bought this as a tape back in. . 1988? 87? 89? who knows. . . I was 13 or so and this tape did not leave my stereo for years. Then the tape got mangled and replaced with a CD (yay technology!) and that was blasted out of my speakers for ages. . . until the CD died as well. Now I just listed to the mp3 of it. . . until my computer dies I guess.
Anyway, this CD has spanned the last 20 years of my life well. it fits my many moods, and it says a lot that I am still listening actively to this band (and this cd) at 34 years old. Still love it, and I'm sad I missed them at Coachella.
The reviewer above said that this sounds like a collection of "b-sides". you wouldn't know that unless he said it. Every song fits a mood perfectly; from poppy to angst to mellow to sad to depressed (what? the cure? depressed?) to elated and everything in between.

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me
In fact it might be the Cures only ambitious and adventurous album to date. The Cure-Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me ****1/2
Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me is easily the Cures most ambitious and adventurous album to date. In Robert Smith's long and lets be honest sometimes dull career, Kiss Me (x3) was really the only time he ever tried to look on the bright side of things. Clearly he never stayed happy and used his amazing 'this mood will self-destruct in 10. . . 9. . . 8' ability to take what should have been the happiest album of the Cures career and turn it into possibly one of the three saddest albums ever recorded. Not that there is anything wrong with that because really would any of us buy into Smith making a totally happy album. . . no probably not.
Ambitious, and adventurous, right. . . right. . . right. Horns! A horn section, and not just any run of the mill horn section, not a horn machine from the 1980's (no save that for the drum machine sounding drums) but a real life, good sounding horn section. During 'Torture' the horns are introduced to the audience subtly as to give the effect of was that for real and then you think they are gone. But they are reintroduced through the entire album like a bridge repeated through an entire Pete Townsend record.
Dance music. . . . hum? For the cure, or big mistake? well neither but somehow they work. 'Why Can't I Be You?' somehow by chance became one of the biggest dance floor anthems of the late 1980's. Can you believe that? But don't be fooled by the cheerful melodies, and the abrasive brass section. No, this is one of the darkest and ominous tracks on the album. Lyrically it is almost disturbing, but a brilliant move on Smiths part none the less.
But what is best album Kiss Me is the wide range in which the album appeals to. The slow drown of the semi-title track which opens the album to the middle eastern sitar flavoured 'If Only Tonight We Could Sleep' or the mega-hit and all time greatest cure track 'Just Like Heaven. ' Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is a near perfect record and considering the year in which it was released that is quite the feet. .
Classic Cure
One of my all time favorite albums is by The Cure (i. The Cure is one of the rare few bands that has been around for twenty some years and not look or sound like some outdated dinosaur like every hair metal band who are trying to resurrect their sagging careers in recent years. e DISINTEGRATION). I am finally getting around to check out the band's other albums, prior and after DISINTEGRATION.
KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME is my first foray into the band's past. Having loved PORNOGRAPHY, DISINTREGATION, and BLOODFLOWERS so much, it was a bit hard for me to letting go of the band's dark, atmospheric sounds on those albums but I eventually did. KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME is am unforgettable mix of post punk, pop, and hints of goth. The version I have is the original recording so the production value is awful. I like how diverse KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME is from the post-punk sounds of the opening track "The Kiss" to the Middle Eastern-tinged "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep". My only other quibble with the cd is that it is a little long for my tastes. Songs like "The Snakepit" (one of my least favorite tracks) could have been edited down to three and a half minutes as opposed to over six minutes of incessant droning. For all its minor flaws, KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME is still a great piece of work by one of the greatest bands ever to walk the face of the earth. . . The Cure. This album is definitely worth checking out for new fans of The Cure.
I wanna hold you like a doll...
A few of my favorite songs on this record are as follows:
Torture
If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
Why Can't I Be You
Just Like Heaven
All I Want
Shiver and Shake
There's just so much mood and euphoria in these songs. I followed the infectious scent of Just Like Heaven (the greatest pop song ever written) to this album, and found myself listening to one of the greatest records I've ever heard. The greatness of Just Like Heaven spills over into all the other compositions. Love it! Always will.
