Haunting in a Bluesy way Or for just the one song How the gods kill. I would recommend this for just about any metalhead. To me it is by far the best and most underrated Danzig song out there, I have never heard it played on radio. Anyways the song itself is pretty haunting but a rocker towards the middle. Other standouts include Bodies which for some reason reminds me of Halloween and vampires, and Dirty Black Summer which has a nice blues-esque style of riff continuously through the song. Overall if your an avid horror fan and or heavy metal-ler then I'd recommend picking up this album. Every song is almost reminiscent of old early 70's kinda tip of the evil kinda sound, a haunted feel to this one. Enjoy!!!!.
Danzig's best
The music has a punchy attitude intermingled with some softer more atmospheric sections. YOu know, as pretenious as Glenn Danzig comes across on this album ("I can make a young girl lie down for me because I'm evil and all love is gone"), the songs are still great. Stand out tracks for mine are the opener 'godless', 'How the Gods Kill', 'Dirty Black Summer'and 'Left Hand Black' along with 'Sistinas'. H R Gieger's openly darkly phallic artwork on the album cover should give the listener the idea as to the albums content. This isn't a 'buy or die' album but is still a great addition to any metal collection.
