THIS ROCKS!
Very cool tunes - sort of a cross
between Korn & Metallica meet goth. I love all types of music and this is now at the top of my list of favorites. Don't let the dorky dvd cover fool you - music is really good.

Some incredible songs, some mediocre
I'm a longtime Danzig fan and absolutely love nearly every song he's done from Misfits days, through Samhain, up to Danzig4. So much has been written already I'll keep it brief. I even liked Danzig 5 quite a bit. At first I didn't like this album, mostly because of the vocals being too quiet. However, I've learned that this alubm is meant to be played LOUD!!! If you play it loud enough for the vocals to be loud and the guitars overpowering, it sounds great!

There are several songs I don't really like much, but 'Black Mass' and 'Dead Inside' alone makes this album essential. 'Black Mass' is one of the most incredible pieces of dark music I've ever heard. To me it captures that euphorically dark feeling of the best of Samhain, with the layers upon layers of distorted guitars, demonic vocal howls, and subtly psychedelic darkness. . . 'Black Mass' reaches that place that only Danzig takes me where the music is a spiritual experience. Awesome!

'Dead Inside' has an incredible soft intro like only Danzig can do, then gets so heavy and layered. . . . again its a euphoric experience to get lost in the layers upon layers!

There are some good moments on the rest of the album, the intro is fantastic, but I'm not a huge fan of the rest yet. Regardless, this is essential Danzig if only for 'Black Mass' and 'Dead Inside'. . . . they are really that good!!!.

Good
Easily the best and heaviest album since 4p. I saw Danzig live in person the touir for this album. I'd reommend it to casual fans of Danzig or long time cynics of Blackacidevil. .

I gotta admit...
I Love the Misfits and Samhain, but there is almost nothing out there anywhere by anyone in any genre that has had such a profound impact on me as Danzig's first four albums under the "Danzig" moniker. I grew up on Glenn Danzig's work. His voice was a rare gem indeed, combining a knack for bluesy melodies and soul with heavy metal power and energy. The music was a likewise flawless fusion of these two genres. He was at the top of his game and the results were epic.
Since then however, Danzig has chosen to take some stylistic twists with his music that have resulted in a very different experience. Albums Five and up aren't bad in my opinion, but they're VERY different. If you don't like any music that gets words like "Nu Metal" and "Industrial" thrown at it, then read no further. You won't like these albums. Don't buy them.
That being said, albums Five and Six were hard for me to like at first, but I felt that Glenn was trying something new, and he hadn't quite figured it out yet. There were a lot of good songs on those two albums, but it just wasn't coming across like it should have.
So I was thrilled when I finally took a gamble on Seven and found that it is actually quite compelling. From the stellar opening instrumental track which sets the mood perfectly, making me feel like I'm inside the church of the damned, all the way to the end, it takes me to an interesting place, the way Danzig's earlier albums did. It's not the same place, but it's still a good time.
It seems that Danzig has finally worked the kinks out of his new approach and I'm positively thrilled that it's working for him. After all, if there's one thing about Glenn Danzig the person for which I have always looked up to him, it's his unending devotion to himself and his own vision of what his music should be.

Danzig 7 lose the cover. creepier. Ok Cd.
I know before I get slammed, this is danzig were talking about? My favorite songs Angel Blake,Kiss the Skulls,Wicked Pussycat, Cover is better, Inside better with Hotchicks, not into S&M myself, nor the name of the album but its unapologetic, it's danzig, All new lineup(every time, since danzig 4/5)
.
