Best Christmas album ever made Even now , over 45 years later, I love to hear his beautiful versions of these all time Christmas classics. Bobby Darin was at his absolute best on this album. This album is for anyone who loves traditional Christmas songs. Don't be thrown off by the rock songs Bobby sang. These are great standard versions. Just beautiful.
Merry Christmas, everybody, and a Happy New Year!
Bobby eschewed contemporary Christmas songs in favor of traditional hymms and Negro spirituals. This Christmas album by Hall of Famer Bobby Darin was released in 1960. No songs about Santa here, only songs about the birth of Jesus. Bobby sings them very well, with help from the Bobby Scott Chorale. The CD includes one bonus track, "Christmas Auld Lang Syne", which was released as a single the same year the album came out. It probably wasn't included on the album because it isn't about the birth of Jesus. This is a very good Christmas album.
The 25th Day of December
it was wonderful to hear him sing not only old standards, but songs I had not heard in a long time. I love and miss Bobby Darin, and Christmas is my favorite time of year. Merry Christmas!.
Christmas with Bobby
Kept playing it over and over. A wonderful Christmas present to any Bobby fan.
New Yule from golden oldies days
The music is upbeat even by today's standards and many of the songs are original or have been given the Darrin touch. After playing the sheet music to "Child of God", I was thrilled to finally hear the song. Truly wish I had found this album 40 years ago but then it wouldn't have been digitally remastered on CD which is certainly a plus!.
