Gotta Love Darkness The video was hilarious with them poking fun at the whole rock "thang" but at least they were having fun with it and not taking it seriously, like the bands they were mocking. I remember a few years ago when The Darkness launched their first album and single. So now they are back with an album produced by Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, The Cars). Now original bassist Frankie Pouillan, even though he did co-write a few of the songs, is replaced by Richie Edwards.
The album opens with an intro and someone snorting coke. The album is much like what you'd hear on a Queen album especially on the songs "Hazel Eyes" and "Knockers". They are the kings of pumping out the power ballads. It is much like what you've heard from them in the past, but this time they've added more instruments to the mix like bagpipes. Justin Hawkins surely can hit those high notes.
