For fans of German thrash only I had heard the disc, but not in probably 10 years - but it seems my tastes have evolved, or maybe I was in a German thrash phase at the time. I picked up the reissue version of this CD on chance, which includes demo versions as well as a few other odd tracks. The music is catchy, raw, and barely without compromise, and is strongly satisfying. However, the vocals just keep bringing this back down to an average overall value. The accent is strong and his voice just becomes tiring after hearing 16 tracks - or even 3. I hoped for a better mastering, but instead the CD is more faithful to the original sound of the 1988 original, for better or for worse.
I'd recommend this to any fan of older German thrash, who certainly doesn't mind low production or messy song arrangements. It'll make you headbang or at least remind you of days when metal was simpler, and didn't rely so much on digital recording values. However, if you're like me and wish for more clarity in your music or vocal lines that are more technical and less raw (almost punk), this perhaps is not something I'd try first. Older Kreator, Destruction, or Assassin even may be a better choice for a non-diehard fan.
