Whats up with the price!?!? 00. You can buy this same exact cd on dashboard confessionals merch page for $8. Why are people trying to sell it for $19. 00??.
The transitional sound of DC " The differences being that this material is from the first album and the other was all new stuff at the time. This album has the same keyboard qualities of DC's other EP that came out at the same time, "So Impossible. Summers Kiss really shows the transitional sound between "The Places. . . " and "A Mark. . . " while foreshadowing that Dashboard would be going in a more electric direction on the last track "Ender Will Save Us All. " This provides a partial remedy for the people who wish that Chris would've done an alternate version of the first album with a full band. Giving us four more tracks. The highlight of the collection for me is "Living In Your Letters" which far eclipses the emotional impact of the acoustic version, if only because of the vocal performance. My beef with it is that there isn't a version of "A Plain Morning" which was a track that truly stood out from the pack on the first album. I hope that he will do that down the road.

Not what I'm used to... This was because I was a Further Seems Forever fan, so I wanted to follow Chris. I've been a Dashboard Confessional Fan since the Drowning EP. Having heard Chris's beautiful voice over the Drowning EP, The Swiss Army Romance, The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most, and the So Impossible EP, I couldn't wait to get this CD. I'll tell all of you now, anyone who doesn't have this CD and is reading this review. . . Do not buy this CD! Unlike some purists, I love the sound of Chris with a band behind him, I think it sounds great! My beef is something I can't believe no one has brought up, and it is the most important thing about Dashboard. . . Chris's voice! Maybe he was having an off recording session when he recorded this EP, but his voice doesn't have its usual quality. For some reasons, this seems to happen to Chris when he records with a band. You'll notice on TPYHCTFTM, that on the tracks Again I Go Unnoticed and Screaming Infidelities, the vocal recordings were infinitely better on TSAR. The same holds true here. On The Sharp Hint of New Tears, he sounds like he's on steroids, and on Living in Your Letters, he sounds like he's lost his voice. And why are the tracks so slow. Unless you seriously have 8 bucks to burn, then leave this one aside, because if you already have TSAR, then what's the point?.
